The black&white photos below (1984) show the band called “Bravo” (“Браво”) and Zhanna Aguzarova (Жанна Агузарова) in her shorts and pantyhose with lurex being arrested right on the stage for not having a proper registration. Actually, she forged her passport. Currently she claims, that she’s a martian. Fantastic voice, but wired to the moon.

Last summer we spent a couple of weeks at my in-laws. To make long story short: it was a very busy time, my immune system gave up, I caught a cold with a high temperature and was left at home while my family went out to see our relatives. It’s not common (yet) to wear zentai in public. There are some well-known exceptions (e.g. Aurora). But apart from photos (I fully agree that it’s already a lot!) you want to know more: people’s reaction, what they say, what they do, the feelings, who was around, what happened, when and why it all began, etc. But little can you get on that front. Sharing more information, answering questions, erasing another level of “virtuality” are not common. That costs time, efforts and penetrates deeper into the real person[ality].
On the other hand Wows! Cools! Please-mores! You-are-fantastics! You-are-beautifuls! are expected, wanted and cannot be lived without.
But now you can have a look behind that door.
What an unexpected twist! Me and Sarah Clarke (see the first part here) share not only the addiction to shiny latex, (shiny) leotards and shiny pantyhose but also to shiny Rado Sintra (BTW, a perfect match to any fetish attire)!
Anyway, where does (s)he get all these leotards!?!??!?! And that vinyl red&black… Ohhhh….

Yeah, latex… Of course… Genuine 80% nylon/20% spandex “latex” made by Kova&T founded by Dasha Zhukova (Даша Жукова, new wife of Roman Abramovich) and Christina Tang. Their clothes product line consists of simple and comfortable things like t-shirts, (skin tight) jeans, mini-dresses. Soft, flexible (in all senses), a bit oversized (not the legware) and yet again comfortable to wear everywhere. Nothing extraordinary, but there is one famous feature in their collections – shiny wetlook lycra/spandex. Or as “called by many” for some reason – latex.
Latex Oxy leggings (spotted on Nicky Hilton, Ashley Olsen, Mischa Barton, Kate Moss and “many others”), latex Loree unitard (yes, unitard!!! see the photo below), latex high waisted shorts, latex high wasted skirt and latex bags can be bought here on eBay. Note the word “latex”.
Indeed, if you (quite understandably) don’t want to wear genuine latex stuff, go wetlook lycra. It will not be cheaper, though (See also Part I and Part II. But definitely more practical and almost as “fetishy” and sexy (from some distance) as latex (Click here to check the price).

Unfortunately the picture is very small. Does anybody have a bigger photo or a scanned poster?
Apparently in Part I I made a correct assumption, that latex will eventually make its way into the ordinary vanilla life. Latex can be worn with fur and it’s even being “promoted” as children’s clothing (see this post). Yes, yes, it’s said with a tongue firmly in my cheek, but again and again – you never know.
Look at the pictures below. Would you like to see such a receptionist? Latex, mini skirt, fishnets, high heels but still within the business dress code 😉

As I wrote in Mahret’s diary the fashion industry is out of fresh ideas, the amount of fashion houses is shrinking, even Russian people (the crisis is everywhere) begin to spend less on fashion items. Practicality, durability and good price/quality ratio vs. epatage, the latest crazy priced ultra fashionable stuff, big labels and shiny glamour magazines. The first easily wins, what makes the not-happy Big Fashion Names invent something (though, not revolutionary) “new” every season.
What can be less practical than a latex catsuit? Probably those heel-less fetish-comics-like pony-girl boots (Victoria Beckham was spotted wearing them). On the other hand, the designers managed to keep latex and fur in natural harmony and create a jaw-dropping utterly fetish and at the same time nearly perfect looking and tranquil (strange combination of extremely sexual latex and tranquility, isn’t it?) … style(?) image(?)
And yes, please more such clothes to the streets 😉
