Versailles vs IKEA

Why them? Last week I’ve been to both Versailles and IKEA (yes, I have good excuses for both cases 😉 They both are big, crowdy, located on the outskirt of the cities, have pictures, beds and mirrors inside. Even the temperature (outside) was the same.

And the differences?

Clothes.

You might expect that people would dress up if they are going to visit a palais, and wear old “garden” worn out rags in a warehouse? Ha! Quite the opposite. Minidresses, miniskirts, shorts, high heels with pantyhose in IKEA. Just imagine long-legged girls (NL is the tallest nation in the world) in miniskirts and pantyhose scattered laying on beds and sofas, kids in shorts and opaque thin tights tumbling in soft toys, women on high heels, in skirts and transparent pantyhose checking the wardrobe heights …

And warm jackets, jeans, heavy boots, backpacks in Versailles. Typical tourists you would say. But there are exceptions. I’ve seen a Russian woman wearing high heeled boots with thin pantyhose and skirt on Zugspitze (at almost 3km).

Photobucket bans plugs

pb-whoaPhotobucket service found photos of some plugs violating its policy. I’m going through the site and replacing the broken images. Ridiculous… You can buy this stuff at “Media-Markt” nowadays! Did you know? Vibrators of various forms, colours and power! In the same section as tooth brushes! But publishing photos of them is prohibited…

It reminds me that famous double moral. In some places you can be pornofilmed since you’re 16, but can’t watch the films until you’re 21.

I wonder what’s gonna happen with the rest of the images…

Donations are welcome

After a lot of hesitation and mental speculations the pragmatic part of me has taken over. I gave up and added the “Donate” section. I’ve started thinking of donations since Aurora’s question “Why do I need it [the site]?”. My thoughts returned when my site was taken off the air because of the enormous traffic.

Despite lots of new ideas and huge amount of old materials the motivation is sinking. I can’t keep up with coding, upgrading, processing, publishing, composing, promoting, maintaining, paying, answering, studying, following discussions and working full-time to pay for all the mentioned hassle.

Being perfectionist? Getting old? Pissed off? Trying to bite what I can’t swallow? Dunno… Probably, like Aurora, I need support and encouragement to keep posting and updating frequently enough…

Off to get some sleep…

Utrecht. Nice weather. Oroblu Dolce Vita 15.

Oroblu-Dolce-Vita-15-1If you want to know why inhabitants of Utrecht voted for closed shops on Sundays, you have to visit the center of the city twice: on Saturday and on Sunday.

It was Sunday yesterday. (Hm… Yesterday indeed … It’s 2AM at the moment…. 😉 +20, sunny, moderate wind, dark blue sky with white clouds, and almost empty streets. I accompanied my son to his classmate’s birthday on a bicycle. Not because he couldn’t ride there alone, but just for the “gezelligheid” (untranslatable Dutch word meaning simultaneously cosiness, snugness, comfort, companionableness, conviviality etc). I did not want to discredit my son in front of his mates and their parents (if any of them are waiting outside), so I was wearing pretty conservative Oroblu Dolce Vita 15 pantyhose with capri. Dolce Vita tights are pretty invisible (ok, ok, if you don’t stare at the legs, of course) even under the direct sun light but with a slight shimmer.

Amsterdam. A woman and a man. Or a man and a woman?

We’re driving down one of the central streets in Amsterdam, when we noticed a good-looking gray-haired figure dressed in jeans and khaki jacket standing with a bike on a pavement. I said: “Oh, a woman, I thought it was a man…”

A few moments later another figure caught our attention. Black knee-length skirt, black coat with a waist band, black opaque pantyhose, black shoes, gray hair. “A man!” we exclaimed simultaneously!

And it was, indeed, a man.

Moscow, high heels, greyish pantyhose

mini-skirt and stockingsEver been to Moscow? A completely different world of dressed-to-kill girls. Posh, expensive, thoroughly chosen clothes, make-up and accessories, “f* off” expression on their faces, high, very high, stiletto heels regardless the situation and place…

But rather strange pantyhose. Dull, greyish, “cold” coloured, “dead skin” looking. I don’t understand why. Even in the shops (Wolford is the only exception) I could not find any transparent tights with normal “warm” colours. Just coffee-brown, dark suntan colour with a slight lilac shade and that light “greyish” one called “natural”. Yes, you can buy black, blue, red, etc, but I mean close-to-skin colours. I checked Oroblu, Filodoro, Glamour, Levante, Philippe Matignon with exactly the same result.
