Bolero single-glove. Self-bondage not possible
The instructions are translated into German. (See the forum thread). Strappado, you’re a star!

Update Nov 06, 2009 @22:52:
Apparently single-gloves can be used in self-bondage. The ideas are swarming in the air. Many thanks to Strappado, who invested money, time and efforts into the investigation. His notes made me also think about various possibilities.
And as a result – I’m going to buy a single-glove. I need one within 10 days and I do not want to spend a fortune on it. So, eBay is a natural first choice here. See here what’s available.
Also, I’ve found a bolero monoglove similar to the one on the photo. Click here and compare.
Oct 06, 2009:
I adore single-gloves, though I’ve never tried any but pantyhose single-glove. But even the stretchy lycra gives the idea on how restrictive a proper leather of latex single-glove can be.
The only downside (actually, it’s the downside of self-bondage not single-glove) – you can’t use them alone, despite all weird ideas, fiction stories (all related “true” stories turned out to be fiction ones) and technique (e.g. this drawing). It will be either not tight or absolutely not escapable on your own.
This single-glove is bit different. It’s got the upper part covering your shoulders and neck (with a lockable collar). You can wear it as a short pullover or bolero. (See the photos below on what the monoglove looks inside and how to wear it).
To complete the view I would add a hood (connected to the single glove) with a built-in gag. Just imagine: one piece of absolutely inescapable lockable clothes covering your arms, shoulders and head. Your elbows are tightly cinched together, every move of your arms wiggles the gag (or/and plug(s) if the strap from the single-glove goes between your legs to the waist.
But even without the hood this single glove is at the top of my wish list. But if I ever buy one I will need to ask my wife to put me into it for a night. What do you think about the rest of the outfit? ;-P

Hey,
i bought this monoglove yesterday via airmail. hope it arrives tomorrow. i see this perfect monoglove and can’t wait to order it. ;-)… i have no partner and at the time no idea to use it in selfbondage but i hope to find an idea. maybe anything else can help me with this problem.
best regards
tom

WOW! Congratulations!
I would say that you definitely need a partner.
I see only one selfbondage possibility. Forget about the zipper and use a rope with the D-rings. No cinch nooses, though. Only simple loops which you can easily undo by pulling the glove parts apart. To keep the rope under tension you can loop the rest of the rope around your waist or wrists.
And please make photos!

This toy is awesome except for the zipper quality which sucks – cheapest quality. In theory, you simply put a rope onto the zipper and pull it up (and hopefully down too) over your shoulder – with the usual risk of accidents. So better have a phone ready that you can operate without your hands. Though, under a bit of stress, the zipper simply pops open. As soon as I can find a “kinky” taylor in my area, I will get a new safe zipper. Safe as in “doesn’t pop open” as well as in “very low-jam risk”. This problem might not be important when you are small enough and have narrow shoulders.
Biggest trouble is to get the shoulders inside. I used two strings attached to clothepins to pull it into position, then a harder pull and the clothepins are off and it looks nice again.
With belts on, you can do that as well, even close the neck belt (remember safety, if your arms are long, you might strangle yourself and thas was your last hype) and it is a bit tricky to get out again – though not impossible.
One idea for emergency release, if you are not using the zipper: Have a knife or scissors hanging somewhere in a way that you can get it into your hands when needed, then cut the material to get free. If using the zipper, it is advisable to have some tool inside the bag that can’t hurt you – or a phone to call for help.

I got this toy and it is nice with one exception: For my size, it fits exactly and the zipper is so poor quality that it simply pops open when under stress, so I am going to have it replaced as soon as I find a taylor that I trust.
If you can to put it on with straps and open zipper, and even manage to get both shoulders in, it feels pretty safe and restraining. I used clothepins with tiny ropes to do that, pulled them off after they did their jobs and hooray! It was a bit difficult to get free again, but in the worst case, you can probably manage to get one hand out between the lower belts and grab a tool or dial a phone.
I was a bit afraid of the neck belt at first, but there is no strain on the front of my neck. I tested that with the help of a friend whom I trust a lot – though not a possible bondage partner.

So, basically we are back to the same old problem. I wonder if my idea of using rope loops is going to work …

For some unknown reason it was held for moderation.
But they are different ;-) Sorry for the trouble, anyway.

In order to to the manufacturer justice: I just realised that the zipper on the pictures could be metal, while the one on my jacket is plastic. However, it was 30 EUR only (around 45 USD) so even though I have to get a new zipper, I don’t complain – gonna ask the seller though.
Comment :: October 31, 2009 at 02:24 :: Quote
But still, you can break it by using too much force. Or it can stuck, what happens pretty much often. Usual things…
Comment :: October 31, 2009 at 02:56 :: Quote
Ok, now I played a bit with this thing and the zipper proved to be stronger than I expected, it won’t open accidently when it is properly closed :). I pushed as hard as I dared – being afraid to break the sewing instead, I had to open it with the sring instead. The trouble before happened when the slider went off one side while closing. Unlike the quality of the zipper, workmanship of this toy is pretty good and the moving parts of the zipper are far away from the seam. So I consider it quite safe for solo-play, chances for a jam are extremely low (still better have a backup, I might be wrong). Perhaps with just a better slider, it would be fine.
I even have a vague idea how to make this temporarily unescapable. When the string that is used to close the zipper goes through the collar, you need a second string to open it. Now, it would require a reliable timing method to open the collar, perhaps these medical magnetic locks work.
Another method to escape is the lower end of the zipper. If not sewed together, you can open it there and it will easily open all the way. But I haven’t got the remotest idea how to timelock that method.
Comment :: November 2, 2009 at 00:30 :: Quote
I’m still not sure about the zipper… Probably a backup seatbelt safety knife screwed down to a wall would be a good solution.
About the timelocks. Is it possible to take several photos of the glove with close-ups and upload them, say, in the forum? In this thread? We may probably invent something…
As for now I think only about an ice-lock preventing you from moving away from your position and pulling the slider.
Comment :: November 2, 2009 at 01:47 :: Quote
I will try to make some close-ups and upload them but it could take a bit.
As for that safety-belt-safety-knife, I don’t think it is of any use. Do you mean those z-shaped knifes with a blade inside? The only place where it could be used is the opening for the body, and that ends in a strong leather belt that can’t possibly be cut with that device. And that leather belt is always there, sewed to the collar. It would at least require another device to pierce the bag elsewhere first.
I won’t argue further about the zipper safety. Generally, zippers are tricky and it doesn’t even need self-bondage to find out. Nobody should use this toy before carefully considering the risks by himself.

I am not able to log into the forum. I got registered, activation worked and even the reset-password-process worked, but it still doesn’t accept me ):
As said, the photos will take a little while but I have a working idea on laced armbinders. Combined with the safety-belt-knife on the wall, it is both, safe and secure.

Aha, found the glove. I like the price. I would buy it, but I want a lace version. What about this one?
The glove looks quite tight but a bit short. They say 55cm. I measured my arm and if I don’t stretch my fingers the glove should cover about 10cm over the elbow. Also it can be tightened even more with the laces.
A good candidate?
Comment :: November 7, 2009 at 10:25 :: Quote
Here are the measurements of mine, which is a good length and width for me (elbows don’t touch, instead it is still tight but very comfortable for longer wear:
length: 66 cm inside
width at top: 45 cm, fully closed
width at bottom: none
strap length long end 96 cm
strap length short end with buckle 12 cm
As mentioned before, I am 1.80 cm tall, neither fat nor athlete. If your size is similar, don’t get a much shorter one. If your elbows aren’t well inside the glove, it isn’t secure for two reasons: You can probly pull one arm out while holding the glove down with the other hand and unless you got a real good quality leather glove, you might be able to tear off a strap while struggling, perhaps not the first time but little by little. When an elbow is almost out, it will develop enormous shearing strength.
So better don’t get that one. The design is quite similar to mine but it might be too small. If I see a suitable one, I will let you know.

Comment :: November 7, 2009 at 22:05 :: Quote
Mmm… I’m 175… But 66cm is 11cm longer and I’m not sure they measured that inside the glove. But for that price… Probably I can buy both. The bolero one and that 55cm long.
Comment :: November 7, 2009 at 22:11 :: Quote
55 cm might be okay. I prefer longer because right above the elbows the arms are quite sensitive to pressure. If you have ever tried to tie your elbows together with rope or straps, you probably know. But even in my monoglove the arms start going numb eventually.
Comment :: November 7, 2009 at 23:05 :: Quote
That’s bad. I hoped the pressure would be evenly distributed.
Comment :: November 7, 2009 at 23:16 :: Quote
That is why the arms aren’t going numb so quickly. However, the blood vessels are under more pressure than normally. And naturally there is extra pressure where the glove ends.
Comment :: November 8, 2009 at 07:54 :: Quote
But compared to a strap around the arms right above or below the elbows, a monoglove is extremely comfortable!
Comment :: November 8, 2009 at 07:56 :: Quote
By the top edge… I think only “made to measure” gloves are free from this feature. Lots of pressure can be applied to the area between the wrists and the elbows, and this is all what’s needed to bind elbows together. They will be touching each other, but it will be very comfortable.
Comment :: November 8, 2009 at 20:19 :: Quote
Did not notice this glove. 62cm long (and can be made shorter or longer), 2mm latex, and according to the photo can be tightened so the elbows will touch each other. What do you think?
Comment :: November 8, 2009 at 21:18 :: Quote
Using my method, you can’t tighten it a lot or you would need very long straps and a buckle-devices for each side. Unless you find a way to tighten the laces while you are in.

I have a couple of ideas. I wish I could draw… Will try something later…

A few hints about the bolero single glove for those who want to try it in self-bondage:
- It is not safe out-of-the-box!
- As long as the zipper is closed, there is no way out.
- For safety reasons, simply assume that once you have closed the zipper, it won’t open.
- It is quite impossible to get any tools, knifes or whatever inside the bolero once it is closed.
In the forum I described an emergency exit which requires some preparation. It is reliable when you don’t use straps and your fingers aren’t numb. It might degrade the zipper slowly.

I have done self-bondage with armbinders a number of times, and have a few different types. My favorite is a standard black leather model with two shoulder straps. I can get my arms inside and use a door handle to push the straps over my shoulders. Not too difficult to get in, and can use a handle to push the straps back off to get out.
This one is even easier. It is stretchy and I can get my arms in without the assistance of a door, while the straps are already over the shoulders:
http://www.sub-shop.com/4772asatinprisonsoftarmbinder.aspx
The downside is that you don’t feel so restrained knowing you can get out without removing the shoulder straps. Another downside is that since the material is stretchy, if you put a lot of pressure on it (which you do getting in and out improperly in self-bondage), it can pop threads in the seams and it starts coming apart and needs occasional repair.

I am using my monoglove with straps crossed on the chest, no way to pull them off. It is still possible to slide in one arm, tighten one strap until that arm is trapped, slide in the second arm and use the prepared buckle system to tighten beyond escape.

Here is how to do Single glove self bondage
Comment :: November 25, 2009 at 19:21 :: Quote
Ok, that is a working method but I don’t like the endless straps following you about wherever you go. With my method you end up in a monoglove almost exactly as if someone else helped you in and if the strap is long enough to grab it with your teeth, you don’t even need a string. I even thought about covering the monoglove with a cape and go for a walk (imagine those straps then). Unfortunately, my area is amazingly busy even at night and there are a few people, that I would not like to meet in the dark when bound.
Besides the aesthetical aspect of the extra long straps, they also are a safety issue. Getting strangled by one of them us beyond any backup method, although, choking on a ball gag while getting sick, is much more likely. Admittely, it requires some phantasy to imagine possible accidents, but in the end, that is how most accidents happen.
