Gothic festival in Utrecht 2009 – Part I
Summer Darkness (“a dark underground interdisciplinair festival”) took place in the gothic centre of Utrecht from Aug 05 to Aug 09. I managed to get to Domplein only on the last day – Sunday. Now I know that I should’ve found more time to enjoy the very special atmosphere! A sea of positive emotions, smiles and “courteosity” everywhere, more photographers than goths, and, of course, the clothes styles varying from pinky flowery anime to vampires and dark medieval wizards and witches.
However – no latex. Pantyhose, stockings new and laddered worn everywhere and on all body parts – yes. Shiny vinyl – yes. Latex-wet-look lycra – yes. Velvet and leather – yes. Corsets and super high heeled boots – yes. But no latex. Actually, latex is way more expensive and much less practical… But still…
Anyway, I made 350 photos within just a few hours. I’m still post-processing them. This is the first part.

Stumbled upon on eBay. Vintage nylon full-fashioned stockings
Flea markets are addictive. Internet auctions are addictive. Fetish is addictive. I notice lots of interesting things but other forget to bookmark or lose the bookmark so I decided to create a dedicated tag, called Stumbled upon on eBay and post all items what caught my attention (with explanation “why”) there.
What: Vintage 100% nylon full-fashioned (with back seam) stockings.
Where: eBay item, more from the same seller (when the item expires, you may find similar items in the seller’s shop)
Why: transparency. Sheer transparency. You can read a news paper through 4 layers of the thin nylon! Such stockings will not hide anything, but will add a subtle shimmering shade (and seams, of course) to your legs. Since nylon is not that stretchy as spandex or lycra, you will feel the delicate but tight fabric every time you make a step or bend your knees.

How often when you watch a film do you exclaim mentally:”Do they think that we are idiots? They have no idea what they are talking about! Why didn’t they hire a consultant or at least looked in the school books? What an ignorance… Oh, my… Just look at that!!! Do they believe that we will just eat it and ask for more???”.
Errmmm… I think they do, and I think we will… In some cases Mythbusters return the general public back to the sanity proving that the absurd we see is indeed absurd and cannot happen in real life. Usually it goes about the special effects the duo is more than familiar with, but absurd can be find not in just special effects…
I saw the picture on the left many years ago, but did not see the film. The photo always kept troubling my mind. Ridiculously “bound” girl in thin sheer shiny pantyhose. Both things were banging my head with question marks:
- Is she indeed wearing pantyhose in the film?
- Is this kind of bondage considered by Hollywood inescapable enough ?
The photo was obviously made specially for promotion, and supposed to be “fake”. But I need to watch the film first, don’t I?

A girdle for tights or pantyhose, in which the regions that constitute the panty and the initial portions of the stretch hose are constituted by a tuck-stitch mesh, formed starting from a plain background mesh so as to obtain, by combining and knitting in three dimensions particular conventional threads and elastic threads which are conveniently woven together, a mesh having alternating undulations which are considerably in relief with respect to the plain mesh, such as to generate an adequate compression and thus a massaging and tonic action in the regions of the body contained in the girdle.

You can see joggers everywhere, almost at anytime and regardless the weather. Planned is planned – must run, even if it’s raining or snowing. Just as joggers and their “style” are different, so are their clothes: 
tight shorts, loose shorts, tight leggings, baggy pants, t-shirts, jackets, even jeans and skirts, in all possible length.
Usually nobody gives joggers a second look, joggers and all these sportsmen are nuts anyway. Normal people do not torture themselves “for the better”. Got the idea? Yes, you can wear whatever you want and (unless it’s something WAY too weird) nobody will notice. More about that later.
