How do I see what kind of Tor certificate I have? Someone told me I have an outdated v2 one, but when I check, I can see this: tor is aeady the newest version (0.3.2.10-1).

From what I understand, you can see that in the length of the Tor address. The long one is the newest.

Two possibilities:
- You have two Tor instances installed
- You generated the Tor cert before upgrading Tor.
out of curiosity, is there any point in accepting connections from people in my keyring where under "last used" it says "never"? I guess it would make sense in the long run on the off chance they do log in some time in the future but figured I would ask here anyways
Sometimes i download a file, which then completes but it is nowhere to be found after.

This happens fairly regularly actually
Tor Project will stop to support V2 onion @ mid october!
How to upgrade your existing Tor v2 node to Tor v3 (v066).

I copied, pasted and modified somes lines:

Retroshare v0.6.6 supports Tor v3 keys.
The change is backward compatible: new Tor v3 nodes will connect to 0.6.5 nodes without any change, provided that the 0.6.5 node you?re connected to uses a version of Tor that supports v3 keys too, which means posterior to v0.3.2.9.

Tor v2 keys will automatically deprecate after July 2021. This is not our decision: it depends on Tor stopping to support these keys.
Consequently, it is recommended to upgrade your existing Tor v2 node to Tor v3.

TUTORIAL to upgrade your existing Tor v2 node (created before v066) to Tor v3.
Fortunately, this is rather easy with the 066 version installed:
- Backup your directory \DATA with the subfolder \HID06xxxxx (in \Users\... or in your Retroshare 066 portable directory.
- Upgrade your old retroshare to the 066 official version: https://retroshare.cc/
- Just delete (or move away) the directory ~/.retroshare/HID06_[your SSL Id]/hidden_service/.

Then start retroshare. It will automatically create a new (v3) service address. Your friends will still accept you when you connect to them (your profile key hasn?t changed). They will however not be able to locate you themselves (your Tor address has changed), until they receive your new Tor address either by discovery, or by yourself sending your certificate. This mostly happens to clear nodes for which the only direction of connection is from the clear node to the Tor node. In summary:

delete the hidden_service directory and re-launch Retroshare
send again your Retroshare certificate (See Home Page) to friend clear nodes

'Skuse my ignorance but my Tor says 11.0.11
What, if anything, do I need to do?

It's not Tor, it's Tor Browser = Firefox + Tor bunfle.
So I installed retro share like 3 times, 3rd time i got it right, 3rd times the charm? Anyways it is loging in under my first user name. I closed it out and went back to the login but it only has a scroll pop up where you type the profile name. How do I switch profiles? Retro seems like they could have made this program a little smooth to use lol, but then maybe I have had to much sissy hypno giggles.
Tried running retroshare after about a month's break, and there's nobody there, no connection at all. Anything happened, did something changed in the last month? I did connect successfully a month ago, though amount of connections was suspiciously small, but it was there. Now it's about 24 hours and nobody.
