No, or at least not 'publicly' in public. I did wear them when out shopping, but under a pair of normal men's trousers.

Strange that I have no problems at all wearing Lycra running or cycling tights in public, but the same things in a sheer or less thick material are a very different matter!

Interesting, thin sheer tan nylon under shorts feels so normal to me, that I forget about it almost immediately, and look at my legs only under a bright light to get a glimpse of the shine. Coloured nylons is a different story, I wore them several times outside after the sunset.

Nah, not strange at all. I think we're just very aware of these unwritten rules of public perception - and sheer nylon really is crossing a line into female attire, whereas shiny Lycra leggings sort of hover as unisex in public eyes, albeit slightly pervy.

Of course there's also the less practical side of sheer - I am too lazy to shave and my hair is quite stiff so when it grows back to a short stubble it feels rough so that would snag up the sheer tights.
