Four “sexist and misogynist” urinals have been removed from a public toilet in Vienna and offered for sale on eBay, Reuters reports.The offending pissoirs – lovingly sculpted by local artist Rudolf Scheffel and installed in “toilet-bar Vienna”, next to the National Opera – caused a bit of a rumpus during the run-up to the 1 pissoir2-2October parliamentary elections when they were “used by political party supporters attending rallies nearby”. Although the urinals had been in service for three years, this political exposure provoked women’s groups to slam the offensive porcelain, which resulted in its removal.The seller promises: “Each urinal will, of course, be meticulously cleaned. The artist himself will sandblast it, brush the mouth’s teeth, and give them a new varnish.”

Mick Jagger was unavailable for comment this morning.

Masakazu Shimizu again

For those of us who enjoy art-works of Shimizu-san (see my post earlier), but not fluent in Japanese enough to buy his works, here’s a tip: start your favourite peer-to-peer program (eMule, eDonkey, Kazaa, etc) and search for “黒妖社”.

Of course, you can try any Internet search engine first. This is what I’ve found:

International Men in Tights Day

“Well guys it’s not long now until the second iMiTD so I hope you’re all thinking about what tights/pantyhose you’re going to wear on 1st November 2006.  I have mine sorted so I’m well prepared unless I see a hot pair that I must have instead, but as I’ve spent enough money lately on tights I think I’ll stick to the ones I’ve chosen.
 
I’d love to think that iMiTD will go for strength to strength each year.  As I said last year there seems to be special days for different occasions and there’s no reason why us tights guys shouldn’t have our own day too.
 
I’m at work on 1st November but like last year that won’t stop me from wearing, and I hope to at least take a few pics at some point that day showing off what I was wearing.
