While travelling (this is why I was not here for a couple of weeks) I noticed several interesting things:
… just a very-very few women/girls wear pantyhose. In two weeks and in 3 countries I saw less than 10…
… I think that the most popular pantyhose are from supermarkets…
… some big shopping centres do not have supermarkets…
… some big supermarkets do not sell pantyhose…
… French pantyhose in France cost more than in Spain or Belgium…
… typical pantyhose colours vary per country. I prefer Germany and France…
… typical pantyhose types worn “on streets” are opaque black and shiny sheer skin coloured. Usually with holes and ladders…
… in Portugal I saw mannequins, that are made according to the local typical leg shape (strange, but the typical figures in Portugal are different from other neighbour countries)…
… if you are looking for beautiful women – go to Portugal (oooohhh…. I think I can look at them forever….), if you are looking for beautiful legs – look elsewhere…
… see the photo with easily the best legs in Northern Portugal…
… low-waisted jeans and shorts are being “replaced” with “medium” or “high”-waisted ones…
… Lycra is a trademark of Invista and not DuPont as I thought (it was written on a pantyhose pack)…
It is summer time.. Here in California, when it’s warm, there is little leg wear.. As it starts to cool, the leg wear comes out..
Hi Ra – good to hear from you again, hope the break has re-charged your passion and inventiveness.
Pantyhose wearing in the UK this summer (Ha, summer! What summer?) has been restricted to women wearing short denim shorts (Daisy Duke style – for those who remember!) with opaque black tights. It’s not a bad look, but I’m more drawn to skirts myself 🙂
Lycra and DuPont/ Invista – actually you’re very nearly right. DuPont created Invista a few years ago and only recently sold the subsidiary off (along with the trademark Lycra)
