The whole process of getting made up as Cher (or Britney or Beyonce or Madonna or Shania or Liza or Elvira or...) and putting on the tight lycra knowing you have to go out on stage and perform in front of an audience must be soooo incredibly erotic. I wasn't at all surprised to see this advice in a costumer's forum topic on 'How to tuck':

...use a pantiliner (the really thin ones with wings) in whatever panties you wear, and it helps smooth things out and keep things in better. They're not that expensive, and... well... for those of you who get a bit... aroused and "leaking" (I shouldn't need to explain that one, but it can be either from what you're wearing or whatever sort of attention you're getting), it keeps things a bit drier and makes for easier cleanup.

OK, as mentioned over on the cosplay thread I've been getting ever more seriously into Cher's 'If I Could Turn Back Time' look recently and I've commissioned a made-to-measure bodysuit from one of the Thai showgirl costume manufacturers.

   

They estimate about two weeks to produce it but standard shipping is months at the moment due to COVID. I've paid for express delivery which will be a couple of weeks I expect, then I'll need to deal with Customs and Excise so Her Madge can have her cut. So I'll have plenty of time to accessorise it. Here's the general idea I'm aiming at, though I don't much like whatever it is Cher's wearing on her legs. They look like the boot covers cosplayers wear when they can't find or make proper boots.

   

So, I've ordered these faux leather over-the-knee ones and a load of 8mm self-adhesive diamantes, black and clear.

   

Until you try you have no idea how difficult it is to find eighties 'big hair' wigs these days. I've settled for this.

   

Also, I don't think my Ectomorph biker jacket is going to cut it, I have a bid in on a short one on Ebay that I can customise. Yet more diamante will need to be ordered 😊 Though I don't think Cher's jacket for this costume had her logo on it mine will. Because.

The same for the big black drop earrings that I was going to use, they're just not Cher enough. Glass beads are ordered to make new ones. I'm also considering a nude bodysuit to wear under the main one as I'd like to be able to paint Cher's tatts on it but it's proving a bit hard to source one from anywhere other than China.

I've found a nude catsuit now but it also seems that Cher's had her bum tattoos removed.

Still, I'm very happy to have just won a faux leather jacket on Ebay for £7:24, it's a pretty close match and even has the red lining.

   

Now I need to bling it up a bit 😊 I did a quick 'chop to check whether I still wanted to add the 'Cher' logo and I think I probably do.

   

Time to order a shedload more diamante and head down to Wilco for some gold spray paint...
