I think I need pictures before I understand all this.

This is not a promise, but I will try this week-end. Unfortunately, the lace is black, the monoglove is black and the clamp is black as well, no easy task to take good pictures.

I am almost certain, that sooner or later I will order a monoglove from Ozbondage. I feel like buying one right away. So it is time to find out, how to take my measurements correctly and put them to a test. It is late, so rather brainwork than real doing right now:

The following measurements are not so easily be taken alone:
1 Circumference of both hands together at the widest part
2 Circumference of both wrists together
3 Circumference at elbows together
4 Circumference 3" above elbows together

1 is the easiest, I can use a tape measure and then reconfirm with a rope ring tied to exactly that size
2 is fairly easy, but it isn't possible to test a rope ring around the wrists, wouldn't come on. Instead, a sliding loop with a knot to stop it at exactly the correct size
For 3 and 4 I want to use a narrow-down process. Basically the same as 2, but I will have to guess a size, than shift the knot until it works. However, "3" above elbows" needs good control. It probably requires two mirrors and a lot of patience, as well as some chalk on a t-shirt with long sleeves.

I also just noticed some adhesive tape on my desk. It is quite weak, easy to tear apart. Perhaps this is the right "tool" to check the elbow and above elbow measurements. I would make rings in the expected size, but two stripes against each other, no adhesive exposed.

I consider making an escape knot on the test-rings for the elbows, just in case.

It would be nice if someone could reply to this tonight or very early tomorrow morning, so I will see this again under "new posts" and have a reminder to get started. So far, whenever I remembered this subject, I was either too tired or in the wrong mood. Reading this again will definitely help 😉

Ok, I figured out a way to check the measurements.

A simple rope tied into a slipping loop and a safety pin as a marker.
I can widen the loop to get my arms, hands or wrists in easily, then pull the open end until the safety pin reaches the knot. I can simply measure the distance between safety pin and knot, when the loop is widened, that is exactly the circumference. It is still difficult to measure exactly 3" above the elbows, but I got a good guess so far. The only drawback: I didn't manage to use this behind my back, I measured in front of my body instead. Wrists, hands and elbow circumferences must be the same, wrist to elbow and wrist to finger tip anyway, but perhaps the arms are slightly lower or higher on the back, which would create a different angle above the elbows. I am going to compare photos, perhaps this helps a little. The good part about measuring in front is, that I don't need to tie my arms together, I can easily achieve the required position.

I'm still not sure if you can use this glove for selfbondage. It looks way too tight and fits mmm ... like a glove 😉

Yes, fits like a glove, that's why I like it. However, in the worst case, I have to find a way to undo the lacing. Could be an emergency knot near the wrists, because that is the only spot, where the shape is concave. A straight cylinder should come off easily, and there is a d-ring at the end, to pull.

Yeah, one of those situation when you need a bondage friend.

Ok, here are the things to consider:

- extreme posture unless you are flexible, okay for me
- strap securing is one-way, i.e. with a rubber ring construction, I can tighten the center strap, but not release it.
- the shoulder straps are attached with poppers. A d-ring at the ends allows me to pull them off.
- perfectly tight lacing should make the glove inescapable unless there is a way to undo it at least around the wrist area. However, it doesn't need to be perfectly tight at the wrists, and friction will keep the upper end tight (aeady tested with other armbinders). With lose wrist area, it isn't perfect but still much better than any cheap armbinder from ebay. But elsewhere, I described an idea to "control" lacing with a small clamp, similar to the ones found on many hood strings. I haven't found the right clamp yet, but "yet" is the keyword.

In other words: I am confident, that I will have a lot of fun with this armbinder.

I thought about the d-ring on the strap: It won't work, at least not well. The d-ring has to go through the attaching ring in order to make an escape possible! Instead, there should be an eyelet. But first I will see, what the ozbondage people will come up with concerning the upper arm measurement. I compared two photos of myself, one upfront, the other one from the back, it might be the same, but it is hard to tell.

Looking at numbers:

elbows to upper end of the armbinder will be 3", which is 7.62 cm. I will stick to metric sizes, they are easier for me. One one image, the angles of the arms differ by 3° against a horizontal line, that is 33° (front) vs. 30° (back), translating to an opening angle of 68° front, 58° back. I took the angles at where I assumed the bones. Now, how much of a difference would this make for the width of an equally sided triangle with 7.62cm height? Phew, i found this nice calculator: http://www.csgnetwork.com/righttricalc.html

Entering side b = 7.62 cm, angle alpha = 30° gives me side a = 4.40cm
Entering side b = 7.62 cm, angle alpha = 33° gives me side a = 4.95 cm

These should be half the distances between my arms 7.62cm above the elbows, at the given angles. 9.90 vs. 8.80, a difference of 1.10 cm. The circumference differs by that much as well - parallel translation. Even though the distance between the outsides of the arms is much bigger than the distance of the insides, the difference by changing the angle in between the arms will be the same, the circumference for arms behind should be 1.1cm smaller than the one measured in front (ok, just believe me there unless you know better).

Here is an image to help your imagination:

If you think, I am wrong, let me know. In the meantime, I will start to wonder if this difference is important. Given an accuracy of +/- 0.5cm while measuring, the difference is somewhere between 0.6 cm and 1.6 cm.
