a bit of practice

I had a long period of no bondage so when I started again I thought repeating some old scenarios would be the better option, instead of trying new stuff. Good thing I did because I kinda messed up the mummification, definitely did a better job in the past, and now I made a mistake I made before by not using a lock for the rope ratchet but just the default carabiner.

In this video I wanted to hogtie myself with a piece of tube between my wrists and ankles. A ratchet is used to pull everything together, it also pulls the knot that secures my wrists into the tube, so I can't undo it. The tube is long enough, so I can't reach the rope around my ankles. I did this in the past with a piece of PVC tube, which is much stronger than the cardboard one here. Luckily for me I made the mistake of picking the cardboard one or I would have been stuck.

Wow, that's a scary close call! And lucky you didn't use the PVC tube.
How would you adjust it so the ratchet's carabiner can't snag on other rings during struggles?

I loved the use of the tube (thank goodness it wasn't PVC!) such a neat and clever technique.

It might be coincidence but I had a very similar experience with my first real (i.e. damn difficult/impossible to escape until the ice/timer/whatever releases you) self-bondage session a few weeks ago.

I made a simple mistake in my set-up (two actually - but I'll post the story soon so you can all laugh!) and found myself in a real bind (pun intended!).

In my case I had to use my emergency escape back-up plan - something I almost didn't bother to set up!!!!!   

I don't know about you, but after such along time of being unable to 'play'  I think I was too keen to get myself tied up and rushed things, instead of being more careful. 

Lessons learnt and, fortunately, nothing worse than aching wrists to show for it.

I'm incredibly jealous of your lighting and 'studio' set-up - I keep trying to improve the lights for my videos, but find it impossible to think how to hide such items from my GF and can't dream up excuses to explain any purchases to her that don't sound utterly lame and obviously made up!

Just tell her, that you want to use her as a model for photo/lighting experiments, or to keep a diary if her outfits, or to stimulate her blogging, or invent aeady something!

Yeah, sometimes I have a knife and scissors lying around and I do have the reflex to do a quick check for how I could get out if the release fails but these backup plans can still be hard to use. Tied like this I would have had a hard time moving only a few metres so getting to the backup would still be hard.

After my long break I did feel like I was rushing things so that's where I decided to do the "old" things again. A bit of back to basics but I still managed to screw up little, and less little, things...

In this video I did not do any extra lighting, just made sure to position myself in the bright spot near a window. Definitely not light enough so I had to do a lot of de-noising and post processing on the video.

If you are in the market for a GoPro camera, these work relatively well in lower light conditions but it would still be noisy. My Hero 7 is a lot better than an older Sony Handicam. There really is no substitute for lights when filming indoor. Best is outdoor in broad daylight 😉

The rope around my wrists is loop around a few times and then there are 2 or 3 loops between the wrists to cinch it tight. Then this end is pulled in the tube. So even without being able to reach the knot I can still loop the entire thing, tube + ratchet, around between my wrists in the opposite direction and be released. This works really well, the bondage is comfortable but unescapable.

ahhh ok, I thought you were reling on the inner line going slack to allow the knot to come out the top of the tube again to untie it and get free.
but yes fully understood how you did the wrists, just didnt understand that you whip the whole pipe round not uncover the knot
