Hogtie practice

There must be a way to get into a decently tight hogtie that's not immediately uncomfortable, and I had a few ideas.

The prepared loop of rope that I can put on as a vest with a ring at my neck got an extra ring on the other side, so halfway my back. Because tethering my ankles to the ring at my back makes the ropes hurt my neck and armpits when I struggle, so I'm going to try tethering it lower.

I'm adding a ring at my thighs. I do the normal wrapping the rope around my wrists and then a few cinch loops, but then I pull the end of that rope loop through the loop at my thighs and lock it to a rope connected to a ratchet at the ring at my neck. So when pulling the ratchet, my wrists get pulled down towards my thighs instead of up towards my shoulder blades as I normally do.

For the hogtie I'm using a carabiner at my ankles because I don't know how long it will be comfortable, and I want to try getting it quite tight for at least a little while. So the plan is to keep pulling until it feels really tight, enjoy it for a bit, then unhook the carabiner to undo the hogtie and remain in non hogtie bondage for a little longer as the ice lock is set up to release my wrists.

It felt really nice, I should try that again. Watching the video the hogtie is definitely not as tight as the pro models but for an old amateur like me, it was tight enough. Next time I'll try to hold on a bit longer. Some upper arm and torso bondage is missing, but I didn't want to risk getting everything tangled up.

You have a lot more pulling power if you put the rope ratchets at your ankles and thighs instead of the middle of your back and back of your neck. Pulling upwards towards your hands is much easier than pulling downwards away from your hands.

If you want to pull the hogtie so tight that you can't undo the carabiner, skip the rope ratchet and replace it with a pulley. You can pull as hard as you want, get it as tight as you want and just let go when you want out of the hogtie.... or you could tie off the pull cord around something so it holds its position until you untie it.

Actually no, for my hands when I pull the ratchet pulls the rope through the ring at my thighs so I'm actually pulling in the same direction the rope from the ratchet is pulling my wrists, which gives much better results. On top of that putting the ratchet at my thighs will subtract the length of the ratchet from the amount of travel I have so I wont be able to pull my hands all that tight. I'd need another sleeve printed for the ratchet because I would be able to reach it and just trigger the release. Then I'd also need to add an ice lock there somewhere introducing even more slack. No for this setup the ring at my neck is definitely the best place for the ice lock and ratchet.

Putting the ratchet at my ankles will not work, as you can see I can pull my ankles all the way to my wrists. If the ratchet is at my ankles that would have been the maximum I can go. With the ratchet on my back the theoretical limit is there. It's also easier to pull as I can pull down with my hands towards the thigh ring where my wrist rope goes, instead of having to pull against both the wrist bondage and the ankle ratchet.

As this was a training session the whole point was that I should be able to undo the carabiner. When I'm satisfied this position is doable the carabiner will be replaced with a padlock. There is no use in using a pulley, the whole point of using the ratchet is not having to tie of the pull cord to hold the position. Then I can simply untie it when the point of this setup is that I want to be helpless until an automated timed release. The tying of the pull cord "around something" is the problem here, I don't have much to work with in that position, the knot can not get tighter while I struggle around so I can't untie it anymore or it might slip out of reach and I'll be stuck. The ratchet is way safer as it's predictable and easy to use.

Your description makes it easier to understand as it was a little hard to see exactly how it was setup in the video.

I usually have my arms pinned to my body at the chest and waist level and my fingers hindered with pantyhose mittens so your way would be more difficult for me but I do understand your reasons for doing it that way. I usually have my ratchets at my ankles and arches of my feet with a pulley at the back of my neck (or occasionally another ratchet). This is because my elbows are part of it and it pulls the elbow bondage upwards to prevent slipping out if I'm using an elbow coil or pulling my elbows closer if I'm using leather cuffs. This allows me to use the strength of my legs to better secure my elbows then I just pull the slack through the ratchet to get my legs back into my desired hogtied position. The ankle ratchet is just there to tighten the cinch noose on my wrist coil and keep it from getting undone.

I usually use a pulley at the back of my neck because it allows me to use a knife or scissors to cut just the hogtie ropes to get completely free. If there was a ratchet at the back of my neck, my elbows would remain bound after cutting the hogtie ropes. Because the main ratchet is at my arches, I can't reach it with my hands... not that I could disengage it with the amount of tension on the rope.
