MJSB-02/2024 Bar bound

How I use a spreader bar for a totally different purpose and my first real adventure with padlocks!

Equipment:
Tan oil shine tights
Long sleeved Lycra body
Silicon breast forms & bra
High-heeled open toe shoes
Butt-plug (20cm)
Leather and assorted cuffs
Padlocks and D-shackles
Spreader bar
Chains
Corset
Lace-up Hood with blindfold and Penis-gag
Elbow length sheer gloves
Rope-ratchet and ice-release
Rope
Silky knickers! 


The Session:
With @Anne and @Kyral_the_Cool having 'raised the bar' with their recent adventures, I felt I should stop messing around and join them in some 'proper' self-bondage, using a bar of my very own!  😁

SPOILER ALERT this session included a number of elements I'd never tried before and so was as much an experiment in techniques as it was serious play. Also, even though this was a real self-bondage, I did use the 'escape' option to end my session early (lots of reasons for that, I shall explain later).

For all the reasons above, the following video is a lot more about 'how' I set up my self-bondage, than it is about me being 'in' self-bondage. I did wonder about bothering to share it at all, but then realised that many of us have reported spending more time in preparing for a session than in the session itself, so thought it might be interesting for you to see all the messing around that I go through before actually managing to tie myself up! 

I followed my usual approach to dressing for a self-bondage session; caged cock, nice plug in my ass and, for some reason, silky knickers under my oil shine tights (@likera will almost certainly suggest it's my SCM at work!). Silicon boobs (a mere 800g 'C' cup size) bra and long sleeved leotard, with contrasting elbow length nylon gloves and strappy open toe heels completed my clothing. I wore my lace-up hood (laces replaced with elastic cord, which makes everything much easier - thanks to whoever it was on this forum who suggested that!), which went over a stocking I'd aeady pulled over my head (there was a hole in the stocking for the gag to pass through).

What went well?

So, so, many things! And in no order at all....

Blindfold - I've always hesitated about wearing one during a session, usually preferring to restrict my vision with stockings over my head, but I went for it and LOVED it. My fears of being unable to see ropes/locks/etc and therefor unable to escape proved groundless, but not being able to see and struggling a little more to escape was wonderful. Also the sense of isolation when plunged into darkness, coupled with the bondage, was wonderfully intense. 

Spreader bar used 'top-to-bottom' - this was something I'd planned for ages but never really used in a serious session. It worked really well and the restriction of my movement was quite unlike anything I'd felt before and I very much enjoyed it. Locking my wrists up on the bar by my chest was novel and most comfortable, whilst also created a strange sense of helplessness. The best feeling was how any leg movement was limited by the bar locked to my collar and vice-versa. 

Padlocks - I've used padlocks before, but not as the main feature of my self-bondage. What isn't in the video are the hours (yes, hours!) I spent experimenting with different cuffs and padlocks to find which combination worked best, how I could escape from each combination and, strangely the hardest part, how I could get the damn thing to lock closed in the first place! Who'd have thought clicking a padlock closed could be so hard?! Anyway, the long shackle one I used to lock my wrists onto the ring on the bar worked very well. 

What could be improved?

Escape - why oh why, after all the trouble I go to when getting into self-bondage, do I immediately try my hardest to escape?  The very fact that I've included an 'back-up' (emergency) escape route almost always means that I use it! In my defence the reasons in this particular session were many - short window of opportunity, desire to try other things, etc. But I really need to enforce my bondage and make any 'escape' prior to the intended delayed release, either only to be used in true emergencies' or else somehow equally delayed, so that it only functions as a back-up, not as an easy option. I think this is simple to achieve and hope to incorporate in a future session for your enjoyment (and mine!). 

Cuffs - the more observant of you will have noticed that my cuffs were not locked on (again, this was more of a test session than a full-on one), I've since tested a method to lock them closed and will use it next time out. Oh, and I really should have put those wrist cuffs on before starting recording! They were such a pain to fit around my wrists later in the process!

Thigh cuffs - I expected these to work better than they actually did, and they had a tendency to slip down my legs, no matter how tightly I strapped them. To be fair having the bar attached (or me attached to the bar) at 4 points (ankles, thighs, wrists and neck) was very nice, but I wonder if I could switch the thigh cuffs for a simple belt around my legs, above my knees.  Something to experiment with I think. 

Free-roaming - I like being tethered to the bed, but am very interested in trying this set-up on the floor, allowing myself the freedom (ha!) to roll and squirm around, maybe to reach the key location. More planning and testing required, but the idea is intriguing. 

Chains - the idea of the chains was to prevent me from shuffling up/down the bed to reach the keys in the ice release. In practice I don't think I needed all 4 chains, I can see how to use just one at my ankles and another at my head to achieve pretty much the same effect. However, further thinking got me wondering if I could dispense with them completely and use a more raised location for the key release, knowing there is no possible way to reach it when I'm locked to the bar. More testing required - which should be fun!

Camera angle - Yes...well...hmmmmm. In hindsight the angle for my 4k camera wasn't quite as good as I thought it would be. Whilst some people may enjoy a close-up of my feet, in a such a way that it makes them look HUGE, I have to say that I'm not a fan. My low-res camera (you can see the tripod just on the right hand side) produced a much better view, but the video quality wasn't good at all. Next time I'm going to try something I liked from an @Anne video, with an overhead type view.

Video editing - Still getting to grips with the Kdenlive software (thanks to all who've helped with this, especially @Anne) and hope to improve in all aspects, including subtitles to rival @Kyral_the_Cool (I wish!)

First time blindfolded was a rush for me as well. Sensory deprivation hood over earplugs next!

About the camera work: you noticed the distorted body proportions because of the camera position. Ideally you want it to be further away so you don't have to zoom all the way out and get the distorted fish eye effect. 4K is nice but you need more light, like a lot :p I do like you're not having any clutter on screen, having a clean image without a lot of distracting colours or patterns that take attention away from the subject helps in making it look good. There is a white balance effect in Kdenlive, you can use that to get rid of the yellowish tint you have now and after that you can colour grade to a style you like. I wouldn't call myself an expert but I have edited a video or two over the past years, I'm happy to exchange tips and tricks.

Now I need to check my calendar to see where I can squeeze a session in....

I tried something similar years ago... theres a thread on here somewhere of the concept but for me it was a straight pole "hog tie" ish
I did Ankles, collar and waist belt to the bar... incredibly strict
Then if I remember correctly I had two ice releases.. one holding wrists down to the ankle fixing on a ratchet, and the other holding the elbows together up toward the shoulders
