Autogynephilia

A related question. What would you do if you have a surge of acute AGP and you have no time/space to "play"?

I think the label "autogynephilia" is problematic, because it does not merely refer to a kind of experience or desire: it's strongly associated with Blanchard's theory, with all its assumptions and implications. After reading more about the theory and several criticisms to it, I think it's better to label the kind of experience or desire with Molay's term ("crossdreaming") or with Serano's term ("female embodiment fantasies"), which are more neutral terms.

As long as not everything is explained with AGP, I'm pretty much fine with this term. And, as always, it does not matter what letters are used, as long as there is a good definition of what those letters are referred to.

In short: term - definition.

The problem is not that everything is explained with AGP: the problem is that it's not just a name for the experience or desire (you've said "a surge of AGP", which seems to mean that you are talking about the experience or desire), and that as an explanatory theory, it has a lack of evidence of its main claims.

OK, how else would you call a strong and very arousing desire to look like a young, slender, pretty girl in sexy clothes? 😅

Just as you've done. A desire to look like a girl. Terms like crossdreaming or female embodiment fantasy are broader, but also refer to the experience, and are not an explanatory theory of it. Anyway you are free to call it as you want, I'm just explaining why I prefer other options.

And this is exactly, what the term "Autogynephilia" is referred to: " sexual arousal at the idea of having a female body".

And from what I understand, you are against the connotation. Though, I still do not see any issues. The "Flat Earth" theory uses the term "Earth", which did not get demoted because of that 😉 Also, both theories ("Flat Earth" and Blanchard's transsexualism typology) do have limited use, and both do not describe "the whole spectrum". See my point?

Oh, I see that the wiki page is seriously rewritten since last time I saw it. Now it's here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blanchard%...m_typology So, far, I like it.

I think the correct analogy is that using "AGP" is like using "Flat Earth", not like using "Earth" alone. I disagree with the theory's main claims, so I won't use the word "AGP" except when I have to discuss the theory, just as I don't use "Flat Earth" unless I'm discussing with a Flat Earther. So I won't talk about "surges of AGP". It's ok if you want to use it, I'm just explaining my opinions, and we can agree to disagree.

ADP is not a theory, it's a definition of an existing effect, or a symptom, or a fact.
Blanchard used symptoms or facts to create a theory, explaining another effect.
So, my analogy of Flat Earth is correct. ADP (or Earth) is a building block, with which anybody can create any theory.

I analyzed myself a bit "deeper", and I came to a conclusion, that my AGP is rather as "side effect" of a combination of strong gynephilia and misandry. Or is it another mid-age crisis? 😁
