John Everett Millais and Tights in art

Millais FairiesLet’s continue the Tights in the art theme which was started by Geraden in Tights in Arts and cited by me here.

A couple of weeks ago I visited John Everett Millais (1829-1896) exhibition in Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. His paintings are known for the realistically with lots of details vividly depicted nature. But what I did not find in various articles and guides written about Millais and what I found in his paintings is eroticism. His works are very real and very erotic regardless the subject.

And last but not least – tights. Men in tights, kids in tights, girls in tights, boys in tights and stockings. Look at some example here:

Men in pantyhose photo session

A woman and a man in pantyhoseHarisnya (the founder of e-mancipate) did a professional photo session in which he explored the limits of masculinity:

where pantyhose colors or patterns would be too feminine for men”

The result?  You can find the results here in Geraden’s blog.

But as you may have guessed, no such limits have been found. A man remains a man whatever he’s wearing.
