Glue latex (rubber) to PVC ?
#1
The title says it all: I'm looking for a way to glue latex to PVC.

What for? you may wonder well, inflatable bondage.
I've made latex on latex "pressure bed" (as opposed to vacuum bed), but latex stretches, thus I'd need either thicker latex on the outisde walls, or reinforce it using tons of glue in some gruesome time-consuming, mind-numbing gluing ordeal which I wish to avoid. And both would be pretty expensive.

So since PVC is non-stretchy, and the "double orca" inflatable bondage is all the rage since about a year or so, I figured I might use said orca for the outside wall, glue in some latex to be sandwiched in once the pump is turned on to enjoy both the feeling of pressure (not not dissimilar to a vacuumbed's but still a different experience enough to warrant making one yourself!) and the vore feel it'll bring in. Not to mention how much cheaper an inflatable PVC orca is compared to 5m of 0.8mm latex sheets! Yeah, we're talking about 4 times cheaper.

So if anyone has any sort of knowledge or advice - really, anything- in regards to gluin latex (rubber) to PVC, it will be most welcome.

And if you have any question or suggestions go ahead.
Cheers.

Cocoasoft stuff is always extreme, scary, but still exciting. How do those poor girls survive that?

Obviously, I missed the hype 😁

SCUBA diving drysuits use latex neck and wrist seals glued into some kind of PVC or related non-stretchy material.  Try looking at drysuit repair materials for such a glue.

i think that won't work, because the softeners in PVC or Vinyl will probably dissolve the latex. Maybe not immediately, but over time.
I once stored some latex items that i didn't use often in a PVC box and when i opened it a few month later, the latex that had direct contact with the box was just one big clot...

i have a similar problem with an inflatable latex-sleepsack. It just expands too much on the outsides... when i want it tight, i either wrap a blanket around it and fasten it with several belts or i pull a normal sleepsack over it. Not perfect, but it helps...

Thanks for the suggestion on the drysuit repair glue, I've also considered shoe repair glue.

As for plasticizers in PVC if I'm not mistaken they changed the chemical some odd 12 years ago, so I think I'll try my luck with some small scale prototypes to test the glue before going ahead with the orca, and if those hold together longer then I'll switch to DIY for the outer layer as well.

And yeah, you missed the hype, although it was mostly a japanese one (the video was published by cocoa soft much later, the guy originally published it on some pay-per-clip site iirc which leads me to believe he was not affiliated with them by the time he made those). There's also some tutorial on youtube on how to make one since the hype became worldwide at that point.
I stumbled on a good youtube channel that had a guide to make one, amongst other inflatables related stuff (heat stretching, using some chemicals to make the PVC softer/stretchier). He used the mouth of the orca as the entry point, which was smart. Here it is:

But apparently, the double orca dates back to 2011!

But yeah, it really blew up in the japanese inflatable and inflatable/vore fetishist niche about a year/a year and a half back iirc; which then propped its popularity back in the west.

Haven't made a double orca / whale yet, as I'd prefer the softness of a 0.2mm rubber inner layer, but I've been thinking of making inftatable PVC bondage stuff for about 10 years. Latex sheets and infos on gluing etc are just so much easier to come by that I never really bothered. But talking about the iconic orca/whale made me consider it once again.

Since we're on the topic of inflatables, I'm open to suggestion on inflation valves. Currently I'm using the ones for inflatable boats, the only problem is that they are somewhat bulky, but they're relatively cheap (~9 USD a piece) and can be used on latex since they don't require gluing, just a hole to fit them on. Good airflow too, the only problems are that you need a special plastic wrench to unscrew them, and when they're in "closed" position a measly 12v inflator/deflator isn't enough to force the air in, so I bought a "Bravo OV6" inflator/deflator, same brand as the valves. Cost about 70 USD iirc but the airflow is much faster, the only problem is the noise it makes.
On a side note the little 12v inflator/deflator is more than enough to suck the air out of a vacuum bed, I wouldn't dare using the OV6 as it would leave crazy vacbed hickeys all over, even a vacuum cleaner is overkill. But you all probably aeady knew that I guess.

Anyways, thanks for the replies, I might grab a few orcas this summer, but not for the beach.

Oh.. Probably this is what happened with my latex 😢

I have a double skinned inflatable, armless catsuit and an inflatable sleepsack.  They both have different inflation valves.  The armless catsuit has model# 85121 "valve with rubber foot" on this page https://www.blackstyle.de/lshop,showrub,...en,,,,.htm.  It works well for inflating it with a hand bulb but if you want to inflate it faster you have to unscrew it, inflate, then screw the end back into it when you've got it inflated enough.  Not easy to do on a bondage catsuit with no arms.

My sleep sack has two chambers and both chambers have what's called schrader valves, like those found on american car and bicycle tires.  This valve is great because I have bought some inflation hoses that lock on to these valves which allowed me to build a system with solenoid valves connected to my air compressor and I can actually get into the sleep sack with internal sleeves and inflate it with the wireless remote I'm holding.  Those valves work really well and have built in check valves to keep the air from escaping.  If I were going to make an inflatable bondage device from scratch, I would use schrader valves.  They can be purchased from many online retailers.  Also, you could just buy a cheap bicycle innertube and cut the valve out of it so you can use it on whatever you make.

Finally, Presta Valves are another type you could find while searching, but I would recommend just avoiding those.  They're not often found in anything besides professional/European cycling innertubes.
