Currently in the middle of a few days wall paper stripping as we are redecorating and I am wearing my heeled ankle boots as it makes me 3 to 4 inches taller. The extra height ideal for reaching the bit just below the ceiling. Easier than constantly moving the step ladder. This is the third day running the heels have helped make me that bit taller. (NB As a man I wouldn't openly wear the heels for this outside but inside no problem.) Even my fairly vanilla wife thought it a sensible option.
Have any other forum readers got examples of where what they bought for fetish reasons has become just a bit of mainstream practical wear?

In the winter, I often wear pantyhose to help keep me warm when going for a walk. And for other reason when it’s warmer thought 😉 .

I had gotten some panic snaps for self bondage, and shortly thereafter at work, we came across a situation where we needed to release a heavy weight under tension - they ended up working perfectly, and we're still using them today. Same thing for trauma shears to cut heavy webbing. It did lead to some slightly awkward conversations, though.
"Oh, I've never heard of those before. What are they for?"
"Um... horse halters, usually..."
"Where did you find out about them?"
"Oh, I saw them... somewhere... randomly... you know..."
"And why do you have them?"
"Well, it seemed like they might come in handy for... something or other... So I picked some up... just because..."
(Only slightly exaggerated - I'd be terrible at improv.)

Yeah this. I forgot to mention that I often need to rig things up the ceiling or to attach things together t work. I often use a lark’s head to have better control and and easy knot at the end. And there are sometimes tricky things with no attach point…
Well, sometimes, I joke about my years of bondage experience but I don’t know of someone ever noticed the larks’ head which is quite specific I think 😉

Tights and knickers so regular for me as daily wear I’d overlooked them!! I find socks too restrictive around my ankles.

At the scouts club when I was like 10-12 I used the double column tie (larks head, reverse tension, cinch) to tie sticks together. I looked back and saw the smirk on the instructors face

I know people in the Air Force that would wear them under their uniforms when out on the runway in winter

Threw out my back on the weekend and wearing a corset really helps with the pain and posture during recovery.
Yay corsets!
Life's too short to pretend you're not into some kinky shit.

Do you have to get an approved medical corset or can you get a frilly sexy one and get reimbursed for that as well?
I am most definetly not wearing a medical one 😋
