The demise of Prince Philip.

Writing from the provincial UK, can I say please ignore the likes of the BBC on this? It's a matter of supreme indifference to most Brits. No-one to my knowledge observed the silence, in fact at my local pub there was chanting of 'He's dead, he's dead, he's dead!' (I didn't join in).
The BBC, usually woke to the n'th degree, chose to ignore that he was the embodiment of institutional racism and just about every other form of bigotry. The idea that there should be enforced national mourning for such a horrible man is appalling, I won't mourn someone I never knew (and almost certainly wouldn't like if I did).
Rant over (but at least I didn't post it on every topic 😉

Quite right. They are other people who deserves far more a minute of silence and don’t get it.

Many people seem to be obsessed with royalty. (gutter press).
This is nothing new.
I read that when the Bourgondians had one of their famous feasts, all supertheluxe dishes were first exhibited on the tables for the normal people to see, and later they could see how these dukes were eating it all.
It looks like times have not changed at all.

In 1988, he said he wanted to reincarnate as a deadly disease so he could assist with overpopulation. Honestly, I'm not losing any sleep over his death and I didn't expect anyone else would be either. I'm biting my tongue here, as well, for decorum.
