If the chain is too long or too loose you can make it shorter with a padlock.
You can think of hands bound behind your back chained to the collar (a bit dangerous) or the topmost loop of the karada. You can use this method to keep your hands closer to your neck.
Another possibility is to shorten the chain between your hands and legs (hog-tie).
