For network mode, I can only choose between Discovery enabled (recommended) and Discovery disabled. I left it on the default setting which is the former. I did forward my port on my router and allowed it in my firewall. Anyway thanks a lot for trying to help ! Maybe I will ask the devs.

Are you using Tor?
I'm on Linux, so I see it like this:

Yes, I'm using Tor. When I created my node, I had 3 options : the first one to create a normal node, the second one to create a tor node configured automatically, the third one to configure a tor or i2p node manually. I picked the 2nd option. I'm also on Linux, using version 0.6.5 of Retroshare.

Hello,
my problem is that i can't connect to other people in rs, no matter what i do.
When i try to add a friend, it says behind NAT & no DHT.
o- What RS version are you running? 0.6.5? Windows/UNIX?
v 0.6.9999 on Ubuntu from the repository (tried other versions in the past)
o- If not or UNIX, is Tor running?
Tor service is running, checked with systemctl status tor
o- If yes, on which port?
all network connections

I configured my retroshare account with an automatic hidden service, so:
outgoing: 127.0.0.1:38299
incoming:
127.0.0.1:7934
xxxxxxx.onion:xxxx
o- Preferences -> Network -- Local address - External address -- any green lights?
[Hidden Mode] is green
o- Preferences -> Network -> Hidden Service Configuration -> Outgoing Manual Tor -- Tor outgoing Okay green?
Tor outgoing is green
o- Preferences -> Network -> Hidden Service Configuration -> Outgoing Manual Tor -> Tor Socks Proxy -- Are IP_address and Port correct?
127.0.0.1:38299 -> should be correct
o- Preferences -> Network -> Hidden Service Configuration -> Incoming -- incoming ok green?
Incoming is green
o- Preferences -> Network -> Network Configuration -- what Network mode is set to?
Discovery on (recommended)
o- If Public is DHT green at the bottom of the window?
There's only a green onion (Tor ok) where normally the NAT/DHT icons are.
Same happens with the Windows version (portable with tor)
When i try the windows version without a hidden service, i get a green DHT and yellow NAT(behind firewall) but still can't connect to anyone. (UPnP is grey)
-> also tried to deactivate windows & router firewall
I have a cable router without the option to forward ports (because of IPv6 i guess)
Can someone think of a possible fix?

Are you running 4 tor processes? You need only one.
If it's this one: 127.0.0.1:9150 (check torrc file for the SOCKS port), you should put it in Preferences -> Network -> Hidden Service Configuration -> Outgoing Manual Tor.I2P -> Tor SOCKS Proxy

You have to add the certificates only and get your cert added by others. You do not need to sign the keys.

Yep, people do not stay online. The remedies are
- to keep the certs up to date
- stay online 24x7
- to have peers that stay online 24x7
