But finding such a swimsuit can be very problematic. I'm not a big guy, but I weigh 75kg. That's way too much for stretchy nylon/lycra garment. The solution is a professional harness. Much more reliable and predictable, but definitely less "interesting" (from the fetish point of view).

Unless someone knows where to get good tear-proof spandex swimsuits.

Heya, Ra! Actually, that's not too much of a problem (at least for me, anyways; I'm easily a featherweight. If you didn't know me, you'd consider me anorexic lol). Since I don't have access to an actual swimsuit (my wife is skinny also... and how am I going to explain to her a whole bunch of latex gear/rope? Not easy...), I used a cotton sleepshirt, tied the long sleeves to the ice lock, and tied the bottom part together to simulate the crotch strap on a regular swimsuit and to hold you up. It's not the best of things, but I did get a good 10-15 uses out of it... and it's so much easier to explain cotton shirts than latex.
Here's a couple other things that I forgot to mention:
-In problem #2, there's a typo: hardwood door should be hardwood floor. The stuff can take a lot of things, but chairs and dripping ice locks are not included in that list...
-Problem #3: This tie puts enormous pressure on the crotch (potentially sensual for some), however, if you are of the heavier type and you do somehow get yourself in this tie (the strength issue as Ra said), you might want to go as far as considering some sort of protection/cushioning for your crotch area.
-Problem #4: There is a small, but possible, chance that over time, damage may come to the object you're suspending yourself from, depending on the material it's made out of. Unless it's cheap or you have too much money to know what to do with, don't perform this on soft surfaces. Like I said, doors and hardwood stairwells/beams are preferred.

1. Cinch Noose
-I am hard pressed to say I am pleased with the cinch noose. At a certain point, it refuses to cinch up any further, making complete mobilization of my hands effectively impossible.
-Keep in mind that the following "rant" made above is with the info in mind: I am using low-quality materials. Since I can't use rope, I'm using bedsheets and tied-together soccer socks (I am an avid soccer fan/player) in lieu of. If I did have access to actual rope, I might change my stance, but because of my low-quality materials, this is my current stance.
2. Ball Tie
-As with the cinch noose, I am hard pressed to say with the ball tie. I could extremely easily wriggle out of it. Keep in mind that I'm still using low-quality materials.
3. Hog Tie
-Same as above.
Well, that's all for now. I have checked out other sites, but, yours is still my favorite, especially since there is a low likelyhood of it being shut down, the simplicity of the materials needed, and the quality of the binds. Until next time,

I have thought about suspension for quite a while but never tried anything. The main resaon is probably that I have nothing to hang from. But I keep thinking about it and here are some of my thoughts:

- I would not suspend myself by the wrists. Wrists are weak and sensible to pain and the tendons to all fingers go through there as well. Nobody likes to get injuries and I have one more reason: I am a musician and risking damage to my hands is absolutely out of question.

- I wound not suspend myself upside down either. First, I don't like the blood pressure in my head (even uncomfortable in an inflatable sleeping bag although probably much lower). Second, I am not sure what this high blood pressure could do to me. Third and most important: In case the suspension point fails, I am going to fall on my head and if properly bound, I can't do anything about it. I think that struggling can add a lot to the weight on the hook, so it should be strong enough to hold much more than your own body weight.

- I think, being suspended for a while can be very exhausting. So a release method should be as easy as possible.

Enough of negative thoughts!

What is the fun of suspension? I think, it is so interesting, because you literally lose the ground under your feet and every single movement makes your hole body move. Furthermore, you are not free to move around. A key to freedom could be right next to you but completely out of reach. So the basic idea is to hang around in bondage.

I would try a comfortable harness around the upper body and hang back up, face down. The harness should spread the weight over the front of the torso - perhaps three or four lines of rope, crotch rope and ropes accross the shoulders to prevent it from slipping off. This could be tied to a hook while standing on a chair. Once the chair is gone, it should be impossible to reach the floor. There could be a rope to pull up the chair again after the session, it won't help much as long as you are tied up. I don't think that release should involve falling down.

The rest of the session could be anything. Handcuffs, rope, chains to the floor, straight jacket, etc. Well, anything that you can apply while hanging in the harness.

Keys falling down to you seem a bit iffy. They might fall right onto you and get stuck in a place where you can't ever reach them. It might be better to have the keys, or whatever it needs to get free, attached to one wrist and frozen into an ice block of suitable size. It might also be a good idea to have a mobile phone at hand with an SMS ready to be sent out for help, since you can't talk to a phone in a hand that is tied to your back.

In case I will ever try self-suspension, I will be very careful. Everything you might need can fall down and it won't ever come back, while you have no way of getting to it. This is even worse than being tied to a spot on the ground.

But I think I will rather try half suspension, some part of my body on the ground. The very first idea coming to my mind is to use the d-ring at the lower end of a single glove. Secure that with a timer and I won't be able to get anywhere near to a hook or whatever it needs to get out of the single glove. Spreader bar on the ankles and a rope from the neck to the ankles to top it off - not sure if the neck rope imposes any danger. The rope could be in place from the very start of the session, it only needs a good self-tightening device that I could pull tight somehow - stepping on the strap works pretty well btw., though probably difficult when wearing a spreader bar.

Yes, the fun is obvious. The release is not. The only more or less safe method which comes to my mind is using pulleys, SRD (suspended on the ice-lock) and a heavy counter-weight, which should be lighter than your weight divided by the pulley advantage.

I going to have to plan much more before I have another go at suspension SB - too many kinks (Ha!) to iron out before I'm brave enough to go for a full session.

And there is still the issue over a fail-safe release...
