To continue, I have an Access Denied Chastity belt that is stainless steel. My magnet does NOT stick to the lock, waistband, or the front shelf. The two rear chains are magnetic, not stainless.
So maybe goggle full of crap ???

What will happen if it's non-stainless steel? 😁

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I love this forum! 💓 😁
Only here can a thread about buying Plugs, vibrators and other such toys form Ebay and Aliexpress suddenly become a detailed discussion about stainless steel and it's magnetic properties!
For the record I found this
entry on Wiki to be informative - and now I'm going to spend hours following all sorts of disparate links such as what Krupp did with stainless steel (built a boat) etc, etc!
Love you guys!

Ps. My stainless steel kitchen hood and splashback are magnetic... I just tested them!

Ah, come on, you know the answer. Muriatic acid does not effect to non-stainless material !!!

Tried them last night - some are magnetic, some are not. Go figure 😁

Generically speaking, stainless steel is not magnetic. These are known as austenitic stainless steels. But there are different kinds of as well.
Kitchen knives are probably made of something like 420 steel which is a martensitic (high carbon) steel, meaning it hardens well and is semi magnetic.
Then there is also ferritic (highly magnetic) stainless steel (this is probably what your hood is made of) and duplex stainless steels. But I'm in no way an expert on the different properties of steel so I won't go any deeper into details .

My GF thinks I'm going weird (ok - weirder! 😁 ) - I've spent an hour or so roving around the house with small magnet, testing any shiny steel object and muttering 'Austenitic' or 'Ferritic' as appropriate!

So, what is the consensus? Is it safe to buy Chinese chastity devices and metal butt-plugs 😁
