Seriously, trying to find something "truly feminine" I started thread
Femininity. It turned out, that it's very difficult to divide feminine from masculine, IF you move the "social intervention" aside.
Pink is neither feminine, nor masculine (over the years it changed), long hair is neither feminine, nor masculine, dresses were worn by both boys and girls, high heels (not stilettos, of course) were "male prerogative", same goes for stockings, leggings, etc... Painted faces? All genders used to paint faces. Same goes for piercing, tattoo, bijouterie and jewellery.
That leaves some anatomical differences, chromosomes and reproductive roles... The rest is "society". In other words the intrasexual differences are more pronounced, than intersexual. Or ... do I miss anything?
DISCLAIMER: this is not to start a holy war. I'm trying to understand this logically with no propaganda from any side.
