Are there any successful (aesthetically "passable") m2f transitions without FFS (Facial Feminization Surgery)? All "successful m2f" timelapse stories I've seen so far include FFS.
The more keep searching for info and watching transition lines, the more it becomes clear to me, that HRT does much more harm, than brings the femininity closer. To summarize the feminization factors:
1- Breast development (however not reliable and not always symmetric)
2- Redistribution of body fat (waist becomes narrower, the whole appearance a bit rounder)
3- Thinning of body hair (just a bit, not always and not everywhere)
4- Scalp hair growth
5- HRT reduces acne, seborrhea, skin oil (may lead to dry skin)
And that's it... 2,3 and 4 look good and I would call them positive irrespectively of feminization. The rest is either harm, or does not work after puberty, or depends on the physical form, or not stable, or not confirmed, or can be achieved using other less destructive methods.
I've read a lot about the mood change, but researches did not confirm the reasons. It can be either the hormones, or the psychological effect of "the first step taken to transition".
Is HRT any worthy?
On a side note. I asked my wife to make a couple of photos of me today, and it turned out that I can't even pose properly, despite all her efforts. 😁 My joints, tendons and muscles simply refuse to act any close to feminine 😁 I think I look ridiculous. Just like most TV photos (with all my respect to the efforts undertaken by TGs). I think there should be other ways... Healthy, slender beauties (all sexes) look good in any clothes. More yoga, more exercises, more fresh air, healthy relationships are the good first steps 😉
HRT is worthy for most transgender individuals but certainly not for crossdressers. If a transgender person wished to transition, HRT is a wonderful thing especially if you have gender dysphoria. Many ask why transition?
It comes down to 2 facts:
- Gender dysphoria is considered a medical condition by the medical/psychiatric community as a whole
- The proven most effective method of treating gender dysphoria is transitioning.
Aesthetically passing with HRT alone happens, but usually, you don't see it because they pass aesthetically. Generally speaking the younger a transwoman starts HRT for greater odds they will pass without surgery. However, it is not a guarantee by any means. I have seen trans women start HRT at age 55 and pass extremely well, yet I have seen one trans woman who started HRT at age 18 and doesn't pass at all. It comes down to the "genetic lottery". I'm also intersex and as a result, never had broad shoulders, no Adam's apple and I have always had feminine hips.
I am very fortunate that even though I started HRT at age 43, I was able to pass to most people at 4 months of HRT (which is very very rare). I'm now 49 and it's been nearly 5 years since anyone has misgendered me who didn't know me before I transitioned. The only surgery I have had is bottom surgery (vaginoplasty) 2 years ago. Still though it tool work that HRT couldn't do, which was to remove facial hair (it did remove body hair) through electrolysis and work on my voice which passed for female even on the phone. The other huge factor in passing is mannerisms. Fortunately for me, my mannerisms have always been naturally female. (Before I transitioned people assumed I was a feminine gay male.) Breast development-wise I only have a good B cup that is almost a C (my bra size is a 40B/38C depending on the brand) but considering my mother is naturally only a AA, I would not expect much more.
For me, HRT was life-saving and certainly worth it. Of course, it is not for everyone but for most transgender women with dysphoria it certainly is worth it.
On a side note, there are a few other things the HRT does to feminize that often get missed:
- Body odor changes to a more feminine small especially in the genitals area
- Muscle mass is lost, but flexibility is somewhat gained. The muscles become less bulky and more elastic on estrogen
- Head hair loss stops and some regrowth occurs is any was lost
- Orgasms changed
Okay so there are several things that is wrong information here now that I've read through it. Here is a proper list on what HRT (Hormone Replacement Treatment) actually does, This is the information given directly to me personally through a Doctor who specialized and also was the one who stamped me good to go for my HRT some 1months+ ago. Aswell as the same information along with hundreds of possible bi effects that comes on the paper with the 2 pills im currently taking for my HRT.
Do know that many things are up to genetics, how your body reacts with the medicine so on and so forth.
I personally chose pills for both Estrogen and the Testosterone blockers ( one can get the Estrogen in a adhesive plaster form )
I'll list what will happen to the body and mind and I'll also mention when things will be noticable. Also, ALL changes are done within one year give or take ssome weeks maybe.
The estrogen pills are also a lifetime thing. The test blockers are temporary unless u wanna keep your Penis and testicles.
1. Mental state of mind. Within the first week on the pills you will quickly Notice you become more touchy in a way. As in you might cry more easily from sad or other things, In week 2 or 3 most people will also go through an extreme version of this wich is comparable to a pregnant woman that has huge mood swings. And trust me it's some Fing horrible few days. And after this short but powerful moodswinging topple down a little and normalize you will again be steady on mental place that is more equal to a girl than a guy. It's hard to explain but i think most of you get it if you think about how men and woman are mentally, and how we react to lets say a love movie, action movie or something in that way as an example.
2. Breast growth. The breast growth is minimal for most, as in around 75% gets something between A and a small B. and some few might get lucky and get up to a C size. The growth is slow but starts early on in week 2 or 3 again very personal but usually within 2-3 weeks. The first thing is that you will get very sensitive nipples to the point where clothes get annoying and sometimes almost feel like they hurt you. This will also subside after a week or few as the body gets used to it.
3. Redistribution of bodyfat. The fat will redistribute mainly to Thighs, ass and upper arms. and then otherwise even out everywhere else. It will NOT shrink an allready big belly. Diet and/or training is the way to go for a "summer bod" These are not magical pills xD
4. Hair, There is no proof that hair will grow back, but your current hairloss will drasticly slow down to what would be normal for a biological woman.
Facial hair has no change. Laser required to remove permanently.
Body hair will lighten and slighty shorten. Some few individuals might not get this effect and require full body laser treatment.
5. Skin. The skin will soften over time aswell as it might get dryer. There is no research that shows it does anything else to the skin.
6. There are also Minor changes that will happen to the face, mostly due to the fat redistribution.
7. Change in libido. This comes due to the early mental change. Some people loose all sex drive for a long period, some only loose a little for a short while, and some might even get a higher libido. This vary bigtime from person to person. Some say loosing or gaining libido can have a connection to the fact that some transppl have a dysphoria to their born genitals but there is no actual proof or proper research to confirm this "theory".
Also getting an orgasm might be hard as the penis is affected and you somewhat have to "relearn it" atleast in my personal experience so far.
8. Reduced and changed sperm. After just a few days to the first week the is a massive change in the sperm that you produce. It will turn more transparent and look more like precum. The amount will also drasticly reduce.
If you use HRT for a long time you will be more or less steralized. If you choose to start HRT be sure to freeze some up front, just in case 😉
9. There are some people that also loose Muscle mass, but this is also very individual. Most ppl keep like 90% of what they have and dont really notice a difference. other ppl might loose a big amount that is clearly noticable. This is also very individual.
10. Voice. There is no change to the voice whatsoever for MaleToFemale, And this is entierly up to personal work. This is why many trans people out there might have a Hazy voice due to having a normal deep voice and it's hard to make it lighter.
Bonus fact: For Female to Male transgender genderchange. Testosterone that is the "main" thing they take will actually deepen the voice.
11. And that's about it 😊 Oh and try to stop drinking alcohol as the testosterone blockers are harsh on your livers and alcohol dosnt help 😉
Short version
1. Fat redistribuition ( will also slightly change your facial appearance, very minor changes however)
2. Body hair lightens and shortens (does not affect facial hair and will not grow hair back on the head)
3. Mental changes
4. Sperm amount aswell as possible sterilization over time. (Be sure to go to a "bank" and save some children of yours just in case 😉 )
5. No change to the voice
6. Skin becomes softer and often dryer.
7. Change in Libido aswell as orgasms
8. Breast growth normally between Acup and Bcup. rarely a small C cup.
9. Possible or minor muscle mass loss.
10. The testosterone blockers are harsh on your liver so do not drin kto much alcohol, better yet dont drink at all 😁
11. Testosterone pill are only needed as long as you have your male genetailia. If you operate it and create a vagina u only need to go on estrogen for the rest of your life 😊
Oh and also. If you start hormone blockers before puberty as some do these days and then start hormones at 18. The end result will be absolutely amazing. Allthrough there are many out there that even in their 30's or later still look amazing. I as i mentioned have been on the pill for bearly a month now. and i do look OK i think myself atleast. Guess i got lucky haha
