For me, I think it's the relative thicknesses of the shins and thighs.

The crotch-length rubber boots for my Kamori cosplay arrived today. Their fit is great around my calves but they only came in one length and the thigh part is too long for me meaning they sag at the knees. I need to take a few inches off the top but I was expecting that and it shouldn't be a big job.

   

It's the m/f upper/lower leg proportions again 😉

The 'tag' things at their tops aren't parts of the boots, I made them to clip on and just wanted to see how they looked. Also, I've received the wig and have made the head-dress though it still needs some detailing. I'm hoping to start work on the applique for the suit over the weekend. The gloves will just be my standard long ones, though I have yet to make their 'tags' to match my boots. I'm going to have to improvise with the pauldrons for now, Worbla is probably the way to go but I've never worked with it before.

The shape, muscles, knees, hips, etc. E.g. you can tell men from women by looking at their knees.

A recent pic in the 'Latex art' thread reminded me of Narga-chan's Metroid cosplay. Her Samus Aran Zero Suit is again from Andromeda Latex, I particularly like that it has shoulder zips rather than the half-back ones you usually see which run through the back applique. Also the attached shoes work really well.

                                       

Another nice touch is that the suit's ultra-violet reactive.
