Wow. I thought so. You can wipe and clean and still get contaminated.

Again... WOW

Yes, I've read about it yesterday and I know that NL is also considering this, should it still go South. But what if there is a plumbing issue, or someone needs to urgently buy a sink, or a washing machine? Some stuff can still be bought online. But what about small repairs? Or are those shops still open in the UK?

Hardware stores still remain open in the UK, but slightly contradictory advice that you can only leave home to buy food, for health reasons, 'essential' work or work where you can stand at least 2m away from everyone else....

Common sense should prevail, but evidence suggests that particular capability is sadly (and possibly fatally) lacking in a large number of people.

We await the next level of control to be deployed

Ok, first all, I am NOT an expert. But I do have a question and comments.
Does anyone know if this virus 🦠 can survive heat?
Also, can a Charcoal filter slow down this virus?
Or maybe a military gasmask with a WWI type filter that was used for Chlorine gas?

One of the researches says that the virus dies within 2min if exposed to sunlight at +33C.

Even a properly worn proper medical mask plus goggles can help.

So maybe I can cook myself in a hot tub or take a steam bath?

I've heard that the virus isn't spreading as fast in warmer climates but that's anecdotal at best.

All the official information I've heard or read states that you need a minimum of N95 protection mask to catch covid.  You can get N95 masks as those molded white cloth types or in cartridges for respirators like painters wear.  I just looked at my full face respirator that i bought to go under my house with and it actually came with N95 cartridges which appear to be cloth only, there is no indication that they have charcoal anywhere within them.  The following website has plenty of information about approved masks: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nco...e-faq.html

I had a similar thought about wearing one of my gas masks because I'm a rubberist and any chance to be a rubberist in public seems fun to me.  However, I read a website that had some surprising information about old gas mask filters that made me think twice.  First of all, they are not approved for use against corona virus.  Secondly, they may have some old materials in them that would not be considered safe in modern times.  Here is the link with that information: https://www.slavorum.org/coronavirus-war...rotection/

The mask I have looks like this and uses what's called "bayonet" style filters which are also approved for covid.

I can pop a cover off of the filter itself, replace the cloth part (the prefilter), snap the lid back on and reattach it to my mask.  The cloth prefilter is the part that is rated for N95 and it seems like they are being overlooked in many cases because people are only looking for the white masks they keep showing us that look like this:

I hope that helps
