As I answered way back in 2009 (was it really so long ago?) I don't think twice about wearing Lycra running tights (in winter) but would never have the nerve to wear anything like a pair of 'proper' tights under my shorts (fear of a constant erection maybe?) and as for latex/neoprene - that'd be just too warm, even in the winter.
