Our small town did have a parade for a few years, but I was always away when it was on (literally 100's of miles away) and it appears to have stopped, at least I can't find anything scheduled for this year.

Same here. Every April we have a parade celebrating our town’s history. But I also have my Military show I go to every year.
But now, the parade has been moved to a week earlier, so now I can go to both.
