I've seen lock boxes used, and I have bought this one: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DdqMeCR

It arrived today and it looks promising. It's a lot smaller than those kitchen lock boxes, as it's sized for a pack of cigarettes, so ideal for keys and to take it on the go. Cons: no beep or anything when it unlocks and the display is not always on so you'll have to shake it to see the time left. While unlocking it does make a mechanical noise, but it's easy to miss.

Oh this looks absolutely wonderful! Honestly the thing that bothers me isn't the (apparent) lack of self release, it's how unstable the balancing looks! Though this looks like it'd be easily remedied
