It wasn't even me who spotted this, it was my girlfriend!
But NOT what she initially thought they were and the
actual use is very surprising (and I have no clue where she got the initial idea from either, but it's an interesting thought....)

I would have said it’s used to strip (blue)berries or some other fruit, but the link says it all.

What's odd about that? We had our local hobby horse festival last Sunday.
Of course, being outdoors and in the UK it was rained off midway through... 😉
