Actually, for the past months, I've been having some back n forth convo with AI on this subject - and I actually change my mind.
I still feel my earlier points are valid and good in terms of freedom of expression and art, but thanks to new reflections on this, I think retracting the images is perhaps the better moral choice even if I still feel that censorship shouldn't apply here.

Because after all, the real world practice and culture that underpins this, is perhaps the most vile toxic maternal doctrine ever, the worst kind of virtue signaling ever. Especially in the world today where the true meaning of empathy is lost on people in the 'west'. The FGM practice forces a dangerously toxic mentality upon each new generation while societal empathy is lost and the trust between child and parents/family is broken. I truly believe, this breaks the individual female and therefor the societies that practice FGM, they fester in deep everlasting societal problems.

So hereby, the controversial images are removed.

Another point. There are 3 sociological categories:

- profane (usual everyday subjects)
- sacred good (absolute goodness, kindness, love)
- sacred bad (absolute evil, hate)

Profane - is something what can be freely discussed without "triggering".
Sacred - it can not be discussed, because it's predefined.

One weird example, but I think the East block will understand. During the Soviet time, the sacred good was Lenin, the sacred bad was Hitler. None of those two persons could be pictured outside of the context of "absoluteness". Even after the Soviet time, "ad hitlerium" argument is considered an end to any discussion.

See what I mean? "Circimcision", "paedophily" are "sacred bad". These words are triggers. They can not be discussed. What means ... no progress can be made here, until they become a "profane" subject. And to reach this status - they must be mentioned, discussed. Only then paedophiles might get some relief without causing any real damage to any real kids. Just like with computer shooters.

Conversely, the FGM is "sacred good" in the cultures that practice it. Noone or very few within that culture will consider to question the practice let alone challenge it;  thanks to the perpetuating effect of preconditioned doctrinal thinking.

Anyway, so I brought up the example of the novel "Gangrene" by Jef Geraerts, highlighting a particular passage that involves the western male protagonist being offered sexual services of 3 circumcised local women in Congo. His reaction to this is nothing short of controversial.

But the AI argued that it is a slippery slope to start fetishizing FGM even in fictional setting, as opposed to fiction where it is just a catalyst for the point of the story.

And indeed, my images did fetishize it, despite opposing it as a real world phenomenon.
