I always wanted to play with make up, but was very shy of it. OK, once or twice - that does not count.
Recently, I listed to Catgir's hypno files, which literally made me grab the lipstick and mascara and put them on my face, what brought quite a pleasure (see this thread: https://www.likera.com/forum/mybb/Thread...1#pid75481)
Then I started buying cosmetics, watching online tutorials, and trying some coloured stuff on myself. Some subtle results (e.g .with old dry mascara and barely there lipstick) I even liked. But anything above that (e.g. fresh mascara, eyeliners, lipliners, etc) makes me look like a sad clown 😭
I watched several videos on brows shaping, and it's ... non-Euclidean geometry ...
And I can't even draw the contour of my lips with a lip liner... ooohh .... let alone colours and shades ...
... speaking of learning curves ...
I think I learned something today. Those beauty YouTube videos are, indeed, very useful. I do not look like Joker today 😬
And I need a proper mirror with soft light. Most likely will buy this one: 9 inch LED magnifying cosmetic mirror
Back in 2005, I tried some makeup just to see what would happen.
After my morning shower, I tried some concealer, then some skin tone powder and blend them together with a brush.
First words out of a friend’s mouth… are you wearing makeup???
How did you guess???

Just bought something, tried something, got garbage, then watched tutorials, which confirmed what I saw, explained why it was done wrongly, and offered alternatives, which indeed look better. But without getting my "arms (and face) dirty", most likely I wouldn't understand the explanations.
So, practice, practice and more practice!

Of course my makeup didn’t look like that, but that’s what I felt like.
By the way, that picture is a Pinball machine called…

Hmm Makeup... I can only give you the advice I was given, do one thing at a time, say lips and just do that until you are happy, then move onto a cheek and do that until you are happy, when you have done everything, try putting it together one one side of your face then do all over, it's a long slow, funny and often cringeworty process but remember girls/women spend years learning and not all women are make up experts at the end, I promise you one day with enough practice, you will go "damn that looks good" I nailed it.

I have no idea how to even start with eyebrows.
And I don't have all the ingredients to implement one particular look (seen similar videos by different creators). Need powder, bronzer, good concealer, eyebrow gel, and brushes. And, yes, the LED mirror from above. So, starting with what I have 😊 And yes, even these steps are quite difficult at this stage!

I hope so!! 😉

And I learn to stop automatically touching my face "out of the context"! 😂
BTW, I like lipstick stains on my tea mug...
