Wonder Woman/ Lynda Carter

I know there have been several threads about Lynda Carter and her sexy Wonder Woman costume.  On the weekends they will air episodes of the show.  I always enjoy watching each episode mostly because she looks amazing in her outfit.  Those long legs in suntan pantyhose drive me crazy, I'm sure it does for many others.  I know there is mention about how men did stunt work for her in the first season.  In fact, I read an interview with Lynda where she said the male stunt doubles had chest hair pop out over the costume and that they found the tights uncomfortable.  Wow, could you imagine being a pantyhose lover and going to do stunt work on the Wonder Woman show where they handed you that sexy body suit and a pair of suntan pantyhose to wear for your days work.  And most likely you were working next to Lynda in her sexy costume.  I remember seeing pictures of a male who went to conventions wearing his own Wonder Woman costume complete with pantyhose, it looked fun.  How many have wanted to own and wear their own costume?  And if you do own your own costume, how did you acquire it, was it custom made, how do you like wearing it?

I’ve posted pics of my Wonder Woman outfits before but this is an opportunity to bring them all together in one place. My basic costume was custom made for me by Greg Maraio of Boston Massachusetts, he made my bodysuit (minus the beading), my tiara, bracelets, belt, boots and cape. He didn’t offer a beaded version of the bodysuit because the time it takes to hand-stitch the beading means it isn’t commercially viable so I added the gold glass bugle beads myself, I also made the red earrings and what I like to call the ‘Feminum Plug’ (after the secret metal of the Amazons). My wig was bought on Ebay and of course like any pantyhose fetishist I aeady had Danskin shimmer tights in their ‘Toast’ shade.
As to how I like wearing it, well, it’s a childhood fantasy come true! We didn’t have a video recorder when the series came out to so I had only one chance to see Lynda a week, which certainly added to the excitement. I quite liked her in her first series ABC costume but the CBS costume she wore in the second and third series was something else! Even back then I knew I’d have that outfit one day - it did take me over thirty years though!
                   

As you know there were also Lynda’s diving suits that doubled up for skateboarding and motorcross (there were two slightly different styles plus a leotard and tights stunt version). Apparently the first choice was a stars-and-stripes bikini but the idea, was dropped as impractical, something I think we're all grateful for! For the diving suit look I went with an off-the-shelf royal blue Libidex catsuit and cowl along with their knee socks in red, they added a bib to the cowl as custom work. The applique work to the cowl and socks I did myself, also I made my belt and cuffs. I don’t remember where I found the gloves, probably Ebay again.

And the boots, don’t forget the boots! To me accurate boots are critical to the entire look. The baggy PVC party shop ones just won’t cut it, they need to be skin-tight red suede. Once I’m in my high-cut (CBS-style) bodysuit and classic Danskin 1331 ‘Toast’ shimmer tights just stepping into my boots and zipping them up gives me the shakes!
           

And most likely you were working next to Lynda in her sexy costume.

And that’s when this additional accessory would have come in useful!

I'm sure there are plenty of men who would love to slip themselves into this costume and enjoy the sexy look and feel. As far as the hosiery, do you always use Danskin tights (not sure what brand Lynda wore)? Do you do anything to keep your male anatomy concealed/in place? Have you ever worn to an event? And where did you find the boots and cape?

Years ago I heard Lynda’s tights referred to as Danskins but that might have just been used as a generic name for shiny dance tights, I think Mondor had a similar style at the time. Anyway, I’m wearing Danskin’s Ultrashimmers in ‘Toast’ colour in the first set of pics. In the set showing my boots I’m probably wearing Wolford Neon 40’s in ‘Gobi’ as their shine is subtly different, slightly softer.

I think I’m taped up in the first set but I'm just tucked in the shots of my boots. To be honest keeping my boobs in place is more of a problem! I’ve almost always chickened out of appearing in public in costume, I’ve only ever done it once and that briefly.

My boots and cape were also from Greg Maraio but I don’t know if he’s still in the costume business. His most recent work seems to be life-sized painted mannequins.
