Disclaimer I have set up my own Spain based sextoy shop (don't worry I am not trying to pimp it out)
BUT
In your opinion, what are the absolute MUST Haves for a sexshop? Clit stimulators, vibrating butt pugs etc?
We are not super kinky, in terms of demographic, but trying to work out what we are missing 😊
Thanks

I would rather say must NOT haves...
Mainly cheap rubbery "jelly" toys. Seeing crappy toys like that is a giant turn-off for me and I know that the store doesn't really either care or know about what they're selling.

Totally get you on that front, for things "that go in me" i also avoid stuff that doesn't comply with EU standards, which is a way to make sex a little more boring 😊

I bought a PVC butt-plug in a sex-shop 30 years ago - it is still functional! I bought a silicone dildo in a sex-shop 23 years ago - it's still fantastic! I bought about a dozen of "high-quality" "approved" "certified" stuff from a well-known web-shop in NL - sone of them dissolved, some were of a bad quality, some have "stingy" taste. I bought a bunch of dildos on AliExpress - no certs, no documents - they are perfect!
Go figure ......

That should be our store motto "you never know until you try it yourself!" 😊

Yeah, the "standards" don't really mean anything, or rather, there aren't much of any, really. You have things like phthalates bans, but that's the absolute lowest bar possible.
I don't worry about silicone toys from China, as long as it's actually silicone (it's often not). With other materials, I'd really only trust the big name-brands (ex. fleshlight which don't really exist from silicone).
But then, I got some super soft "liquid" silicone toys straight from China and while provably silicone, they definitely have some off-gassing, are sticky to the touch and leave greasy spots on the carton box they're stored in. I don't know about those, am I leaching dangerous chemicals into my butt? I just hope not, they are too good to not use lol.

For me, a good sex/fetish shop should carry not a bunch of dildos and plugs, but something unique to the store.
I have been to many sex stores only to find that the bondage harness, waist belts along with wrist and ankle cuffs are made for women (small women).
To find anything for us larger fetish lovers is look, dream and wish to be smaller than a pigmy.
I have many outfits in 7X or size 22-24 EU / UK.
And I love them. But if I was smaller, I would have a lot more to play around with.
As for harnesses, I have to make or modify bondage harness just so that I can play with. Nobody makes a male body harness, only female body harness.
So, if you're to carve a notch for yourself, stock the larger sizes.

I think @ Tinker D has hit on something here - the fetish marketplace is awash with clothing, harnesses and such that will fit women, or more precisely women who are small and petite and upwards to UK dress sizes 12-14 /Euro 40 / US 12. But if you are looking for something in a larger size, especially the plus sizes, or suitable for a man, then the choice either isn't there or has become very restricted.
I would personally have spent not inconsiderable ££££'s on AliExpress and eBay is only some of the clothing would have fitted me (and I do not consider myself to be so far above 'average' - 187cm tall, 89kg shoe size UK12-13/euro 47-48).
I can find some clothing, but the choice is restricted and rules out on lots of the fetish wear I would love to buy, and there are specialists who sell some shoes in the larger sizes (at a price, but I understand why). The biggest challenge however is in finding head or body harnesses that will fit properly. I now always check the measurements on websites as many have been too small for me - silly things too, like the length of a collar/gag/chest strap, which I'd have expected to be easily and cheaply solved by simply using a longer piece of material.Â
Reading many comments on this site, my experience is not unusual.

Currently, I have been making a list on who and where I can get items I want or looking for. For an example, I have found a good selection of catsuits in 7X. That also includes some really nice dresses from both eBay and Aliexpress.
Something that really surprised me was one particular catsuit on AliExpress comes with gloves and a hood separated from the catsuit. Nothing unusual, but, the attached feet were made like actual socks. Not just like a tube, but an actual 3 piece sock.
Although I love them, I did not want them on my catsuit. So, I cut the feet off long enough to make a pair of socks.
To my surprise, the fabric didn’t tear or un ravel. So now, I have socks for other outfits and now, two outfits that I would love to have can be made and will fit me.
Looks like some of my dreams may come true.
