I never tried it on my iPhone.

I searched a bit with google. It seems it is a matter of compress formats. There are converters, even for free, but they do not run on the iPhone. You need a PC or laptop for it. Of course one should not complain about free programs. Somebody put in a lot of work. But why Apple does not make it read those compress format as well?

I had silently hoped it was a matter of the iPhone 6 being "too old" like it is for a number of those Covid tracking programs. Mine was stolen last year and I now have an iPhone 11, but that made no difference.
