It looks inescapable and pretty much comfortable at the same time.

That design has been around for at-least 20 years.   I know, because I just came across it on my CD of old stuff, that dates back to the days of dial-up.   At the time, I really wanted to see what it looked like in all-black (I found the bright red distracting).   So, I also have a photoshop mod, of how it would look in black.  Enjoy:
