I recently had to throw away a short rope because it was starting show heavy damage. Then a new idea came up to mind when trying to figure out how to reduce my resources to a minimal, but still achieve that precious hogtie I love so much. I don't know if there is a name for this simple tie, but I'd like to call it the butterfly hogtie.
A little bit of a warning, you need to be somewhat flexible because this will hit hard on the articulations if you go for the stricter posture. Nevertheless I found the relaxed version very comfortable, I can see myself taking a nap in that position.

The main idea is to trap your feet with your forearms and fix it by tying a knot around the wrists & ankles.

Cherry on top, you can also keep all four together, for a more classic hogtie. Although you'll need an additional knot to keep yourself in that closed position.

Now I can pseudo hogtie myself with only two simple short coil knots. This could be useful when your are away from home, away from your preferred gear, or just when you want to tie yourself in an easy and fast manner. For self bondage reasons I'm not completely tying the coils, but you could try to trap yourself with a real knot if you do this with a partner.
