Seeking Advice on Effective Self-Bondage Techniques

Hi everyone,

I am fairly new to self bondage and looking for advice from more experienced people. I have tried a few basic setups, but I want to learn more advanced techniques, especially focusing on safety and making sure I do not end up in a situation I can not get out of....
Does anyone have tips or favorite methods they use. What equipment works best for you. Also, how do you ensure a reliable escape mechanism. I have read a bit about ice locks, timers but I am unsure which are the safest options....

I would appreciate any recommendations or insights from those of you who have been practicing this for a while. Any personal experiences, dos and don'ts, or common beginner mistakes would be super helpful.

Safety first.
You need a planned escape mechanism.
An emergency escape method (eg scissors on a bit of cord you can pull in if your planned release fails)
And a human backup in case it all goes wrong, as it's better to suffer embarrassment & humiliation after being stuck 1/2 a day due to failed escape than to be dead.

A couple of my tips are that you don't necessarily need to do something complex for itto be effective.
Your brain can be a huge factor in the fun if your thinking about what does it for you even in quite
Mild & escape able constraint.
See if you can find some appropriate Hypno stuff to listen too while stuck.
Something hidden out in public. I got a huge rush first time I went out & about in chastity knowing my wife had the key & there was nothing I could do. Did anyone around me suspect, were my actions betraying me.... (You don't need another half, you can just leave the keys at home)

If you get creative make sure to thoroughly test it a few times before committing.

Have one backup you need to work for, like keys in ice or scissors you need to crawl a distance for, and one you can get to quickly but at a cost, like scissors on a rope you can pull but doing so will tip a bucket of water and junk. So if your primary release didn't work you still have options.

Buy stuff. I remember trying to get the two ring device from not slipping, using scripts to open the CD-ROM drive on my pc (I'm getting old) to push a key within reach or release a weight to pull loose a knot... Just buy a few rope ratchets, padlocks, a few metal rings, maybe a few lengths of chain.... I have an ice lock I bought online that works 100% of the time, I have DIY ice locks that never failed me but I bought the materials I needed instead of macguyvering some contraption together that's just waiting for the worst possible time to fail. You need reliable stuff that's predictable.

Trying to fit all I could say here would take a while. I think I could write a book about selfbondage but I'm also somebody that had a few close calls and had to be freed by the police once so don't just take my word for it. I do have over 25 years of experience in tying myself up, that should count for something at least.
