^^^this. what squicks you might be totally mindnumbingly sexy to me, and vice versa. it seems pretty much most of these crowd-sourced rating things devolve due to the "yelp effect": everything ends up being 3.5 out of 5, except the true outliers that either appeal to or freak out everybody.

@Jilliannette just a small tip, if you are going to listen to *any* hypnosis files, inform yourself first.

Kei's old self retracted files were accompanied by verbose file descriptions and explicit warnings. Some descriptions can still be found on archive.org; however, many were not archived. 

If trustworthy descriptions or transcripts are not available for any 'tist's file, at least first listening to them consciously without submitting to them is always a wise idea and the responsibility of the listener.

If anyone is choosing to listen to files which Kei has vigorously retracted from public sources for personal spiritual reasons and because she did not agree with some of the methods used (and are thus only available illegally now & without the descriptions/warnings & without her consent), and they are not informing themselves first, that is not Kei being unethical. Kei has emphatically requested & warned here and elsewhere not to listen to any of the retracted files, especially the Demon & Spirit Girl files.

If you read through the thread, you will see not all find some of the unusual "audio effects" used, which you find frightening and "unethical", to be fear inducing. Some find those effects extremely annoying (see Like Ra's posts), some mysterious & intriguing, some like myself distracting from what I generally find to be mostly positive and affirming treatments of the topics (the listener is almost always addressed & treated as a woman, with no humiliation or degradation and the focus is on the desires, joys and pleasure of the listener - with the files I have listened to at least). I and some others are not susceptible to the "separate personality" or egregore & experience that voice as their own or as a narrator. For people who are, Kei's old and retracted files (not the new ones) and the likes of Bambi Sleep (which is not my cuppa) etc are probably not a "positive" choice.

When I think of unethical 'tists, Kei is not one who comes to my mind. Many others do.

I think people have vastly different mental states, and some are more susceptible than others.

I'm not sure it's that hard to believe some people can develop real or perceived disorders from some of these files.

I agree with @TamedOz, and DID/MPD issues are not the only reason this method can resonate with some people. With a belief system which includes sprits/demons/egregores (which almost all religions do in one manner or another) this can be quite powerful and often what causes the most forceful responses in this particular thread. There is also the matter of self-acountability, some people feel uncormfortable with their desires - sexual or concerning gender normative compliance - and having a seperate entity take over and "be responsible for them" is very appealing to some - although they are choosing to listen to them & responsible at the end of the day. I believe this is one reason Bambi is so popular with some people. The same is true (though certainly not for all people) for hypnosis files where the listener is "forced" my a mistress/dom etc. 

The file description I chose above was a random example which fit & countered the "ethical" missing warning complaints of @Jilliannette and also Kei's reasons which I am aware of for retracting the files (the controlling egregore & the potential of being forced, possibly against ones will). This is not one of Kei's retracted files which appeals or resonates with me, it is missing the celebrative euphoria and joy which Kei can communicate so very well.

In general, I believe (and may be wrong) any type of self-hypnosis files (regardless of the methods used here & am not talking about brutal forms of conversion therapy or POW camp methods, where people can be convinced of something to the contrary with devistating results) do not really make/force any A to B mental identity changes - neurological structures can't be changed like that. I think they have the strongest effects on people who are unaware of their inner desires or attempt to suppress them. Such files can lower barriers, make the listener more aware of them and open flood gates. For all, including people who are aware of their inner desires, they can be affirming and amplify positive (euphoric) and sometimes amplify negative* (anxiety/self-deprecation, for example Gracie/QueueBalls) feelings, depending on the file & 'tist. (*negative: Yes, I am aware some people desire that, I'm speaking from my perspective).

Some of Kei's and other 'tists files work very well with me, though not always quite as described. None of the files make an "A to B" change. I have been the way I am and been aware of it long before I ever heard of Kei or listened to any other hypnosis file. As @Ellie said so brilliantly earlier in this thread, it's like "throwing dirt at dirt".

With the files I enjoy, they "do something" for me. They can simply be affirming, soothing and cause euphoric feelings and do quite the opposite of "increasing dysphoria".

Some which are more erotic, they can amplify those desires and bring them to the foreground when they may not have otherwise come to mind. If the text is memorable, rhymes, or includes certain triggers which work well with me (drips, bells, rain, ocean waves) they can be evoked later sometimes and lower barriers. For example if I am out and about and meet/see a cute guy, they can come to mind, cause my eyes to go wide, blush, release dophemine, get flirty, lower barriers... I may not wrap my arms around him, slowly kissing him as I slide to my knees, kissing him down hist chest and belly on the way as I open his trousers and... but I may think about it & blush, smile, bite my lower lip & flirt even more.

i guess i may have just been angry when i saw what people were writing
