Can confirm that listening without actually watching the video does... something. I'm not sure what but it was basically impossible to form a coherent thought, and it was even difficult to focus my hearing enough at points to try to hear if a section was just music or if there was a voice under it.

I can agree with this. The videos actually kind of take me out of it, so it's better just having it in the background. I had a similar effect of it kind of scrambling my current thoughts, and it definitely left me disoriented and kind of aroused. But I haven't noticed any long-term effects
