My current Audacity version does not support old Nyquist programs, that could decipher this. Any ideas?

You think this is how 8.5 works? Anyway, I've been listening to it for two nights in a row. It does not work on me 😂
OTOH, if I manage to get to the bed earlier, I might sleep in phones for a couple of hours 😋
To be more precise, it's my SCM who decides what will work or not. As after all those years, I see no correlation between what and how I listen and what and how actually work.

That is caused by leaky minimum filters used to produce the files.

If you look at the drop that is classic leaky filters.
It is easy to understand Sample theory - it is Sample Rate/2 = maximum frequency - so at 44.1 KHz sampling frequency, the max Hz will be 20-22 KHz. Then the mp3 algorithm is used on top of that. I am also an audiophile, so there is that.
