Not sure if I'm in for an uninstall or not.
Approximately 500 "friends" and I've been using RS for a year or so successfully. I took a short hiatus for a few months and now my activity feed is empty, no friends are online for the past few days. Files are all still visible but no chance to transfer them.
After attempting to add a new cert it's telling me DHT is off RS can't find your friends. Related? It recommends settings->server->public DHT and discovery. Although I can't even find that in preferences.

Is your profile/cert a Tor or a ClearNet one? If ClearNet, then it might explain why you do not see any active peers.
Also, you need to constantly add new peers, as the old ones might stop running RS. And you definitely need to find bery reliable peers who are active 24x7x365, like @bzorl.

PS, huge thanks to the 3 above, they've managed to change mine and partners life for the best.. I need a dedicated computer, than be able to share more.
I'll keep trying. Thanks for the help, I'll chase down some answers and if all else fails, reloading. Just don't want to re add the 150 pages or so. At least I know not to chase the DHT settings.

Do you have any active peers? Bottom left corner? Something like 12/800? 0/140?
Do you see the "green light" in Preferences -> Network?

RetroShare comes with its own Tor program, which might conflict with the Tor program coming from the Tor browser.
As a test, try to shutdown both RS and Tor browser. Start only RS. Check it with a normal (non-TOR) browser.
