Unfortunately, the first thing you could feel is lightheadedness, followed by unconsciousness mere seconds later, if I understand the symptoms correctly. Pooling of blood in the lower limbs with no means to push it back up equals not enough blood flow/oxygen to the brain, and that's not something you can control in any way, much less while in bondage. Night-night Bambi, but very much so, not in a good, but rather permanent way. RE: Mission suspension step 1: trying out the pulley system - madjack - 19 Oct 2023 As with every session, photo and video you share my first thoughts are 'wow! 'Awesome!' and the like. But I agree with some of the other comments that care needs to be taken 'safe, sane and consensual' can apply equally to solo play, especially self-bondage and especially the 'safe, sane...' part. I confess I wasn't fully aware of the risks associated with being suspended in a harness for longer periods of time (i.e. more than a handful of minutes) but have always acknowledged the risks of any self-bondage play when I am alone and have no one standing by to step in if something did go wrong. Having said all that..... I've got to admit the look you achieved was incredible and it did tick all the boxes of what I had in mind for my own suspension self-bondage plans.... so now we are both possibly reconsidering our approach! 🤔 And I've a ![]() And... Guisi seems to have survived all of his suspension scenes (not that some of his antics don't make me fear for his safety!) So what am I trying to say? Be safe - please, please, please be safe. If you don't feel its right or you have doubts - don't try, it's simply not worth it. If you do feel its safe and you are certain - take 'baby steps' and don't leap straight into a full session. I don't think for a moment you would leap in, and your posts a ![]() Have back-ups and escape options - lots of them! I know you do and will, but it doesn't hurt to say it. If anything feels wrong, odd or just 'off', at any time, ABORT, ABORT, ABORT! - but I know I don't have to tell you that! I know I've posted this final bit before, but worth saying again as it's my philosophy relating to self-bondage: Self-bondage is risky, I fully acknowledge that fact, but so is driving a car, riding a bicycle, using a train, flying in an aeroplane, walking down a street, drinking , riding a horse and any number of activities that most of us probably undertake without much thought on a regular basis. The fact that I acknowledge and understand the risks I take when indulging myself in some solo kinky fun makes me more aware of those risks and therefor more careful in what I do (and don't do). I, and only I, choose to accept the risks of what I do and manage them as best I can, because the satisfaction and reward (pleasure, if you prefer) I obtain far outweighs those risks (as I perceive them) - which is equally the same for when I get in a car to drive, or catch a plane to fly, or speed down narrow muddy trails on my bike, shredding my shins on branches and brambles (err..... ![]() Stay safe, but enjoy yourself MJ RE: Mission suspension step 1: trying out the pulley system - Anne - 20 Oct 2023 (19 Oct 2023, 12:29 )madjack Wrote: And I've a Back when I was young and more stupid I used to tie my ankles together and hoist myself in the air so I end up suspended upside down. There must exist some bad quality footage of that somewhere... That worked but it I got knee pain, maybe because of that maybe because of being a teen in a body growing playing volleyball 3 times a week but being suspended by the ankles wasn't helping. Sometimes the ropes got tangled and then it was hard getting back out. I was also only a skinny 65kg back then, doing the same thing now is not comfortable at all. I also had a routine where I started standing up and tethered myself to an anchor point on the ceiling. Then by lowering myself my feet would be pulled upwards and I would end up in suspended hogtie. That worked but only if I did everything just right, otherwise I'd still end up hogtied but on the floor. So there was practice and skill required to pull that off. Not even mentioning all the weird and intricate release mechanisms I came up with and the added constraint that it had to be silent because I was still living with my parents and me just dropping to the floor would alert them and they'd come and check up on my and I obviously didn't want that. Here is a screenshot of one of those sessions: ![]() On that actual session I tore a muscle, I think it must have been a combination restraining blood flow and being in a weird position but it happened as soon as I let myself fall into the suspension part of the session so I had to wait that one out in pain. I remember I started working on my release immediately but because of the injury that went really slow and was very painful so I decided to sit tight and wait for the release mechanism. So over the years I've been trying to find a safe and comfortable way to suspend myself but never really found a way to tie a rope harness that is comfortable enough to support my (rather substantial now) weight I turned to the safety harness. Then I was informed about suspension trauma or harness syndrome and had to think things over again. Maybe switch to another harness, something designed for bondage that puts me in a different position. On the other hand, I did do some trial runs in this and never experienced any of the symptoms, I paid special attention to blood flow as that was my main concern at first, and I'm planning on quite a few more tests before doing any real bondage. I'm not going to be hanging there passively with my legs dangling down. I'm planning on something like 3 minutes in bondage, using electronic time locks, not ice locks. I'm also quite fit, I've been mentioning my weight but I'm not overweight, have a fair amount of muscle, cardio is fine (I play soccer and go cycling) so I'm not worried about blood flow now. Of course I will keep all the warnings in mind so I don't go "this was fun let's do 20 minutes now". So I'll be playing around for a bit being suspended without being really bound to ease into it but I am going trough with it unless something pops up. I got some ideas 😁 (19 Oct 2023, 12:29 )madjack Wrote: And... Guisi seems to have survived all of his suspension scenes (not that some of his antics don't make me fear for his safety!) He's on his own level, both bondage and stupidity. Guisi's bondage uses lots of rope but there is a lot of rope that's just for show. Lots of rope for the legs and upper body without restraining the arms look impressive but are not more restrictive than a few loops around ankles and knees. He also has a lot of padding on his body, that makes getting into bondage harder but once your in it's more comfortable as the ropes dig into the padding and not your flesh. He moves like he also wears a corset underneath, that will restrict movement a lot, I can hardly reach my ankles in a tight corset. I'm more impressed he doesn't get the ropes all tangled up, that's years of practice right there. So for just the bondage part I'm not to worried about him as he clearly knows what he's doing and the actual functional ropes are not more complicated or excessive than what we do, and he has great execution. But then he jumps of chairs into suspension or rolls of the bed and gets hurt, even plays of head injuries like it's no big deal... I hope it's an act and he actually is worried and takes greater care next time or one day he will get hurt, knock himself out or vomits behinds his gag and chokes on it and his next of kin will find him dead in bondage and have everything on tape. There is another asian man that does Guisi like suspensions but he gets out by undoing the ropes or because he, or so it seams, misjudges the length of ropes and ends up reaching the floor with some slack. I didn't see a release mechanism for the suspension part. He has some videos on boundhub but I can't find them right now. Looks a bit like he's at least inspired by Guisi. That's also something that's on my mind. We are talking about this on this forum, about safety, doing tests, trial runs, working up to it... And then one day I might do a full session, do some video editing to make it look more impressive than it actually is, upload it on PornHub where people will see it without context. There is a chance someone will be inspired, buy a harness and kill themselves? What do I do, put a disclaimer in front "Don't try this, you can get killed. Look up suspension trauma." and then show a video of me doing it anyway and enjoying myself? I didn't put a disclaimer an any of my other vids, selfbondage is inherently dangerous. RE: Mission suspension step 1: trying out the pulley system - wolford57 - 21 Oct 2023 I think the issue is that many (most?) people really don’t understand the risks. If you drive or go downhill skiing, there is good data. Because kink is seen as weird, people who get injured are likely to lie about what happened, and when people die it is usually covered up because it’s seen not just as a tragic accident, but a humiliating one. Most of the people we celebrate (like Guisi) are basically crash test dummies, who either don’t know or don’t care the risks they are taking. RE: Mission suspension step 1: trying out the pulley system - madjack - 23 Oct 2023 Well, here's a thing - those clever people over at 'Bondage Webbing' have developed something that I think relates to this thread and the dilemma raised by @Anne Suspension Harness (Chest to Thighs, Self Bondage Capable) (bondagewebbing.com) ![]() ![]() Very clearly positioned as a 'self bondage capable' set-up. Thoughts? MJ RE: Mission suspension step 1: trying out the pulley system - Like Ra - 23 Oct 2023 Yeah, with another type of compression 😉 RE: Mission suspension step 1: trying out the pulley system - Anne - 24 Oct 2023 That doesn't look comfortable or photogenic so I'm going to pass on that one. |
