... having seen many derailleurs on many forums in the past....
Spiritual/religious belief systems are very fascinating & discussions worthy, but let's perhaps try to be cautious even when well intended & not directly prescribe our own on others here as the cause & answer to issues they may be having (as from another less spiritual angle, a claimed psychologist/psychiatrist did earlier in this thread via remote diagnosis based on a few posts, against all ethical standards).
Spiritual beliefs tend to be strong and unwavering & a foundation which people stand on & losing that foundation can be traumatic. We all have our own beliefs and no matter how many others may share them & how right they may be for ourselves, we are always still in a very big minority who share those same beliefs on this planet. You don't have to agree, but respect of others' differing beliefs is paramount.
Why something affects someone negatively can be very personal & complex. In the global, remote, indirect & fairly superficial & impersonal world of the internet, if someone is experiencing anguish or harm, often the best & safest we can do is to offer them our support & understanding when they wish to distance themselves from the immediate cause of that trauma.
