Strange, weird or totally inappropriate gags

Was randomly in a fabric/sewing store and they had pretty big off-cuts of leather on discount that caught my eye and lit up the fetish side and the ADHD side of my brain at the same time. Got something like almost a square meter of this glossy-smooth plasticky-coated leather for equivalent of 4€. Technically, it *is* a real leather, but it's just coated with something synthetic. I'm not a leather guy, I guess you would call this patent leather?

Anyway, few hours later, I came up with this. It was my first time making anything from leather like this.

I cut the leather into 15mm strips, used steel rings (20mm which was too small, esp. for the sides where they join 5 straps), and put it together using this really crappy Punch and Eyelet plier set from Lidl that I impulse-purchased ages ago:

It was also my first time using a rotary cutter, and let me tell you, I didn't expect it to work nearly as well as it did. If you ever plan to do any work with leather-like materials, get a cheap rotary cutter and don't waste your time with utility blades and scalpels.

I've always wanted a properly-sized spider-gag. Everything that I've seen is just measly 45mm (outside) diameter, which means it won't really allow insertion of anything much thicker than finger-thin toys. I've estimated the absolute biggest ring gag I could take to be 58 mm, which turned out to be pretty spot-on, it propped my mouth open at near absolute maximum, but still without any jaw ache. I wanted to know how thin a 3D-printed ring gag can get before being too soft, so I started with 4mm thick profile, which in hand felt really springy and flimsy, but surprisingly in my mouth, it felt almost sturdy enough. I guess it's because of the way your teeth push onto the ring only on the sides, wheras if you try squeezing it in your hand, you always push at the apexes. The prints used concentric 100% infill. Next, I went for 5mm, which in hand still felt easy to squeeze, but in my mouth already felt pretty much as solid as a metal ring. 58mm OD with 5mm profile thickness comes out to 48mm ID.
3D-printed spider gag isn't anything for serious use, the spider gag shape is really bad for printing and the necessary supports left a lot of mess on the surface, which I had to cut off with a knife to get rid of sharp spots. The 3D-printed material safety for oral contact is also questionable at best, but whatever.

I also wanted to solve a problem I've had with common harness gags - they slip off the top of the head to the side. So I added two side straps which join at the top of the head to hold it in place. I am also really not a fan of the harness gags that attempt to solve this by having a strap around the top of the head like a headband.

I also didn't have any buckles and the local sewing store was closed, so I did what any reasonable person would do and made them from a 3D printer and a nail. The smallest hole-punch in the Lidl set was perfect size for the nail in the buckle. I wasn't going off any drawing, I was just loosely copying a cheap Aliexpress harness ballgag that I have, and got almost everything good except for the two short straps holding the actual spider-gag, which I made too long at first. That resulted in the rings on the cheeks being too far back, the chin strap would be way too back against your neck (and make it impossible to deep-throat), and the forehead ring digging into your nose. After replacing it with slightly shorter ones, that solved these issues.

Another problematic thing about this "prototype" is the whole way the spider gag is attached. This way, the leather straps come in direct contact with your mouth, tongue, and saliva, so that makes it really bad if you intend to use it repeatedly. I guess if I attempt to make this again, I should add loops for the straps that extend to the sides, but I was worried that that would hurt your lip corners too much. Minus the ickiness of the leather being in contact with your mouth, it was really comfortable (as comfortable as you can get with your mouth forced open at max, lol) compared to a cheap haness spider gag from Aliexpress (which had the belt attached to side loops).

P.S.: My usual model canceled on me at the last minute, so I hope you can excuse the stand-in.
