Did you add @bzorl's cert? One of the most important certs!

Yes, i went to the whole certs thread and i saw that you mentioned him twice.

At least as long as possible. To connect to a peer (and, obviously, to download from) you both must be online simultaneously.

That's why i prefer torrenting / seedboxes.  😋 But anyway, i'll grab whatever for as long as i am online. Which is gonna be difficult also, because i need my bandwith for my regural downloads as well. I'll see how it goes.

By the way i've checked the collection i wanted and tried to sort the files based on filenames/sizes. i think i have 3GB of audios, that are not currently on Retroshare. i've put them in my folder in case anyone wants to check out. But of course my upload speed will suck.

If one host is going to download from another one - both hosts must be online. 😊 Regardless the protocol: RetroShare, torrent, eMule, ftp, https - does not matter.
Seedboxes run 365/24/7 at extreme speeds, not limited by home bandwidth. And out of hundreds of leechers, statistically there's gonna be at least 5-10 with seedboxes as well who will also seed the torrent anytime. So anyone who requests the files, is guaranteed to get them in just seconds.

In RS you wait for people to show in order to download a few chunks... it's like reinventing the wheel. Like re-living the Napster, Kazaa, Winmx, Limewire days...

edit: And i just realized Tor uses 25% of my CPU. i think i'm gonna pass on RS completely.

edit: Demon Girl told me to stop ranting and keep trying.

That's for sharing the "seeds", not the content

That's the key. The more online peers, the better it works. Irrespectively the protocol.

Same as with other protocols.

You can tune your Tor manually. AFAIK, it might use a part of your bandwidth to pass traffic from other users - just like your traffic passed through multiple node, in order to be hidden. Something, what torrent, eMule, Kazaa can not do.
That's the key. The more online peers, the better it works.

i've added 721 cents, the recent ones, plus the txt from xeon, plus the older ones...

Still 0/721 online, there's only 1 computer i see at the Friends Files.

i found some files i want, and the .collection file which i've put in priority, but nothing has downloaded yet. i hope i get something by tomorrow... there right there, and i can't get them.  Greeting
