I mentioned it several times in this thread. It's interesting how this can be fixed by replacing the binaties.

Since we're on a related topic (versions and issues with) I'm curious if I'm woefully behind. I had upgraded at one point to one of the December point releases but experienced some issues so rolled back.
I'm on Windows 0.6.7a-4-ga1fdce2e5. Any other windows people have you found success with one since? Also in other news I'm hovering around 995 friends and a high score of 38 online today! @Like Ra I'm curious - if you don't mind what's a real OG high score/what are you at: 5K friends? 😊
I would suggest to remove the keys of the peers not active for longer than 1 year. That would keep the amount of peers around 600 and active peers (at any time) around 30-40.

The less non-active peers the faster RS scans through the list. (07 Jan 2026, 17:26 )Like Ra Wrote: I would suggest to remove the keys of the peers not active for longer than 1 year. Strange - Maybe I'm checking the wrong place but checking Network | Keyring, sort by 'Last Used' - my oldest is 64d.
For anyone still having the 30% problem.
https://github.com/RetroShare/RetroShare/issues/3103 If using the appimage, fix is to install / update your tor binary then specify it on the command line. ./appimage -t /path/to/tor
Question for @Like Ra or anyone else more knowledgeable than me. Apologies if this has already been asked / answered, I searched but could not find clear answer.
I've posted my key all over the place. Here on various RS forums / boards. Whenever I'm online, I go through the keyring tab, people online in the last hour or day and "accept connections". Does me accepting the connection from the keyring also send a friend request? Or do you need to also send friend request? Thank you, (Yesterday, 00:40 )Like Ra Wrote:(07 Jan 2026, 20:09 )jocelyn_oui Wrote: Strange - Maybe I'm checking the wrong place but checking Network | Keyring, sort by 'Last Used'Yes, this is correct. Oh most definitely. Champagne for my real friends. Real pain for my sham friends.
I'm not sure if this is already answered somewhere in here, as I'm not even sure how best to describe what I'm trying to fix, so if it's already answered please point me in the right direction to the post and I will gladly delete this message or simply edit with a huge damn THANK YOU:
When you're in Files>Friends files, the Friends Directories is refreshing itself every couple seconds and saying Friends Directories [updating...], and it's making it almost impossibly to look through anything at all. Is there any way to slow the frequency, or even make it stop until the next time I launch Retroshare? I've tried under Preferences>Files>Directories>Shared Directories, and changed "Auto-check shared directories every" to 60 minutes, but it has had absolutely no effect from what I'm seeing. |
