If a NATO country shot down the drone... it might have been taken as an "act of war". They don't want to risk it, by the looks of it.

OK , what is the purpose of NATO then and the membership ?

According to NATO "rules", this should be treated as a "attack on NATO country" and shut down. Guys in NATO command center in Spain were obviously watching TV. Unfortunately, we are paying them to do that. Nah...
We were lucky this time, no casualties
I wonder what will be reaction if that thing fell on Wienna, Prague,

the stingers that are being taken to Ukraine now. and which in Ukraine are distributed to everyone who can carry it away. these stingers will end up in Europe, in the hands of Syrian refugees, Libyans or Afghans. aren't you afraid of that? and this is despite the fact that NATO's air defense allowed that a 40-year-old missile crashed far away in Europe because it ran out of fuel. one of the missiles, the second was supposed to fly to the Crimea

there are still hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of refugees ahead. a lot of which won't work. they will receive benefits and will not pay bills. this is despite the fact that fuel, heat, and food will become more and more expensive.
We all have great changes ahead of us. Maybe more, even when the USSR collapsed

I have lived in Ukraine, Germany, England. it's a pity that we are becoming opponents.

Just watching documentary : Putin: A Russian Spy Story

It's pity that Boris Nemcov was killed, and many others.

First of all, it is unacceptable that Russia has started this war! And I cannot see any rational explanation for this. However:

I think, Ukraina is the victim of a much larger game, involving Russia, Nato, USA, EU and perhaps others. Saying "Putin is mad" and the like won't help understand, what is really going on, it simplifies matters.
There is a saying "it needs at least two to start a war" and there are also bystanders, provokers etc. And even though it might be impossible to get the bigger picture, it is still worth trying to get some idea.

Just my two cents - over and out.

Petr Akopov wrote the Kremlin's goal in the war in Ukraine: "A new world is being born before our eyes. Russia's military operation in Ukraine has opened a new era - in three dimensions at once, and of course in the fourth, internal Russia. A new era begins here. both in ideology and in the very model of our socio-economic system, but it is worth talking about a little later. rather, it has shown that the era of Western global domination can be considered complete and finally over. The new world will build all civilizations and centers of power, of course, with the West (united or not), but not under its terms and rules. "

Interesting state of mind

Same author:
"We are a unique Orthodox-Eurasian civilization, like, for example, the Chinese civilization. Uniqueness is not indulgence and is not a reason, but only the awareness of it gives confidence in their own abilities, arouses responsibility towards ancestors and descendants. Especially in the age of globalization, when half a millennium of Western leadership has led the world to a value task, universalization and atomization, unification into "one humanity", erasing national codes and trying to blur aeady basic, gender differences and destroy the family as such. "Akopov reiterated Patriarch Kirill, who recently blamed homosexuals for the Ukrainian conflict."

Sting Wrote:I’ve only rarely sung this song in the many years since it was written, because I never thought it would be relevant again. But, in the light of one man’s bloody and woefully misguided decision to invade a peaceful, unthreatening neighbor, the song is, once again, a plea for our common humanity. For the brave Ukrainians fighting against this brutal tyranny and also the many Russians who are protesting this outrage despite the threat of arrest and imprisonment - We, all of us, love our children. Stop the war.

I am not at all sure that the decision to start the war was a mistake and there were other ways to protect their interests. Many people think that Putin is crazy, but I see how his country has changed under his leadership. How much he does for the comfortable and safe life of his citizens. War is very bad. But this is still the last argument. Probably there were no other exits.
