I guess there is an infinite number of options where you could hide the keys so for the sake of turning this into a fun partner game you could decide beforehand all possible rooms or places to hide the keys (remember that you will be tied, gagged, blindfolded, ear-plugged, etc) so even that little help should make it a fun experience instead of a frustrating one.
Maybe try using a container with cat bells, so you know for sure you have found the keys... if you are devious enough you could set 3 different cat bell containers and only one of them has the keys. Have fun and stay safe.
