I would still go for karada http://www.likera.com/sb/tech/karada2.php (you can use the connectors instead of knots) but 5m is definitely not enough, unless you strip it down. Mmmm... for example you can begin to make the "horizontal part" from the bottom, without going up to the neck behind your back. More difficult to measure, but if you use a chain, you can pre-made it once and forever (e.g. by leaving the connectors in the proper links).

I really don't see the problem.

If you have the chains, links, locks etc to hand just experiment with them.
